We love everything about the Fontenay! It is like being on a private, modern yacht & you never want to disembark! All the rooms are very clean, comfortable & spacious. Concierge desk goes the extra mile to get you want you need - from event tickets to elaborate international shipping of my suitcase. LOVE the breakfast & the outdoor seating is gorgeous with the view and light from the Alster. LOVE the pool & outdoor sunning terrace. Be great if more outdoor lounge chairs could be added. LOVE the big sauna & view of the city & steam room. Excellent manicure at Spa. Excellent food & drink on rooftop terrace. Front Desk followed through on giving us the Amex Centurion Card ”early check-in based upon availability” which makes a HUGE difference. Love to get an upgrade ”based upon availability” next time as well as we will be back soon!

We had a wonderful weekend at the Grand Elysée Hamburg. The hotel has a great spa area (including family times), incredibly nice service, spacious rooms and a very, very tasty breakfast. Especially the beautiful Christmas decorations made our pre-Christmas break perfect. We'd love to come back.

We did one night stop on our way from Berlin to Billund, the hotel is far from the city center but that´s not our goal this time so the location was good for us. The room was clean and a note was left on the bedtable saying ”Welcome enjoy your stay” which was nice. Breakfast was crowded ( in elevators you can find rush hours of breakfast ) and the staff barely had control at some point. Breakfast had good variations for all of us. The parking lot was located in the basement and you could walk straight from there into an elevator. All in all, clean hotel with great staff and fine locationif you are not planning on spending alot of time in city center.

As I travel very frequently for leisure and business I have a broad frame of reference. This hotel has positively surprised me. Many hotels still use Covid as an excuse to strip down their service. Not this one: extremely friendly, helpful and anticipating reception staff (big compliment and thank you to Uwe Ahlburg at the reception - one of a kind customer oriented top professional - really OUTSTANDING). You get water, slippers and full amenities in your room. They offered a second bottle at check in just in case that you dont have to walk down again. Hotel still offers desinfection everywhere. Room is clean and was desinfected. Beds are very comfy, room not huge but big enough, bathroom has sufficient space to deposite all items, light is good and magnifying mirror is effective. Only item to improve is the coffee was only decaf and not sufficient milk powder and I could hear a bit from other guest through connection door. Check in and out very effective. Asked for a taxi in a hurry and staff walked over for me to get it as fast as possible. Its not a luxury 5 Star super fancy place but if back in HH I’d still prefer it over those as in the end service makes the difference and not the price / look of the furniture. Excellent value for money.

It is quietly located with very friendly staff and bright, beautiful, new rooms and comfortable beds. A night in Hamburg and booked via the Secretariat! Should be near the central and well reachable within the overnight standard (as a predetermined option). The Milano is actually a pension (formerly a residential house with 12 rooms). No lift and three floors. I had my room in the third floor (with laptop bag, small bag, small bag with extra shoes, keys, mobile phone what to say). The door to the room went up in the hall and unfortunately on the halfway a little hesitant (because the tape). View into the room: 1. bed 2m x 80cm left 2. The closet was only the front room and the right went to the main room with double bed, TV and a small balcony. The right to the bathroom, which was newly designed and mostly clean. The shower is very clean (i.e. without fungus & Co.). Breakfast: Something habitually needed as I am a coffee drinker and here like a latte Macchiato, this was unfortunately not eating and the filter coffee was not recommended right (then rather a tea, however, I don't like). Concluded: For business travellers with ordinary hotel chains, the hotel is usually needed for the first time but the location (only 10min to the outer elderly) and 35min to the port city, the top is when you see the price performance ratio. There are also two tank stations (24 h open), REWE and Lidl right around the corner, as well as some good restaurants and the UCI - cinema. However, it is clear that the parking situation and public transport - connection is not possible. Since there was a Holiday Inn next to our central, I would prefer this to Milan. Also or just because of the atmosphere at breakfast and the selection, lift naturally and parking.
