Queen Plaza Hotel

Bethlehem
I have come here four times, without expectations. Room is clean and bed is comfortable. Service is friendly but poor and generally incompetent and hardly english speaking, I am sorry to say. Last visit was worst experience because of; Wifi's reliability depends on in which room you stay. In winter reception/lobby and corridors are freezing, worst is topfloor restaurant, where you cant sit without coat on. Speaking of restaurant, food is okay, breakfast poor On last visit bathroom smelled like an ashtray (horrible for non-smokers), and the source turned out to be a bathroom bin, equiped with a clean plastic pocket, but itself visibly not cleaned. Leakage from room above onto the wall between toilet and showercell Used (wet) towels that I had hung for drying, were rolled up and placed back on the rack by the cleaning service, so they remained damp. Nightlamp switch broken, so I had to turn the bulb to turn light off I asked the first night to change the room for those reasons, the reception did not understand. Then I was told that all rooms were full. Strangely, I saw only 1 or 2 people each morning and evening... Anyways, I had to stick to that room. There is a desk but no desklamp, and bad general lighting. Breakfast supposedly from 7 to 10, I came at 7:30 and it was not ready. Second day I came at 8, and all over the place used placemats were dripping (tea or other liquid) from the seats (?!). It was highly uncomfortable to find a suitable place to sit in between this cleansing process. Checking out at 10 in the morning, not the most strategical time for cleaning floors in public areas I'd say, I step out of the lift into a pool of dirty water in the lobby as the cleaning service was cleaning, ignoring the guests who were trying to splash their way around... No understanding or competent reception to answer your query, and no evaluation form whatsoever suggesting the hotel is trying to improve. I was trying to take it lightly and with understanding because of the local situation, but got now to the point to try another hotel.
