"The Garden Hotel is a beautiful, tranquil hotel located just a few minutes walk from the centre where you can find lots of restaurants, the central park & shops etc. It is a perfect place to stay if you are looking for peace and tranquility but still want to be close to everything. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. The long wooden balcony overlooks the flowing river and is filled with plants and flowers. We found it very relaxing, listening to the flowing water and the birdsong from our bedroom. Breakfast is lovely. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There is a nice coffee shop in the hotel offering baleadas, cakes and coffee during the daytime. We will definitely be visiting again!"

Hotel Itzae

"Had a long weekend so went to Copan to explore the ruins and the area around the town. Found Hotel Itzae on TripAdvisor. They had rooms available and were reasonably priced. I noticed that the only bad reviews were when the air conditioning in a room didn’t work. My room had a/c that worked well. Spent three nights there. The room was very clean. The bathroom had soap, shampoo, towels, bath mat, face cloth, and ample toilet paper. I had brought my own shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel because I am particular about them—but if you don’t mind, they are probably sufficient. The sheets and blanket were clean. Same with the pillows—but I also brought a couple (mostly to make the long car ride comfortable). There was also a water cooler near my room, which was really nice for refilling my insulated battle with cold water. I didn’t get to use the breakfast coupons—but they did provide them for a nearby hotel. We left early each morning so I don’t know how good it was."

"Beautiful location. Very well maintained. Fantastic views. Great deck to watch the valley and the river. Comfortable rooms. Agreeable pool. On the other hand: for Honduras quite expensive, both stay and dinner (dinnerprices are exclusive of taxes) and that raises a certain level of expectation. I think service could be more adequate. Although there were not too many guests, it took quite a while to get our coffee/breakfast. And do not hurry op guests if the kitchen will close in a while (we realise ourselves that we shall not turn up for dinner e.g. at 20.25 if it closes at 20.30). You can walk to Copan but it s quite a walk (but we knew that in advance). We had a pleasant time."
