Our room was spacious and clean with a beautiful bathroom. The bed was really comfortable but the pillow was too hard and lumpy. I really don't like the duvet only on top of the bed. Why isn't a top sheet used any more?
The pool, sauna and club facilities were awesome. Great access to the lake for walks too.
Parking isn't free. We used the 3 hours free section.
Hotel locationđ   We drove at 8 o'clock in the morning in Sydney. We stayed in the zoo in Canberra for about 5 hours. We drove in from the entrance. On the left is Jamala's signboard. It is good to park directly in the parking lot without taking a ticket.   Jamala is not in downtown Canberra, but Canberra is only a 10 minute drive to the city. If you want to live for a few more days in Canberra, I wouldnât recommend it because of Canberraâs political attractions. More, more fun, in addition to the mint to see how the Australian coins are made (1 to 2 hours is enough), the other is the National Congress Memorial Hall, there are also in Melbourne, Sydney, unless the Australian history is particularly interested in not recommended Pull. Overall processđž   We arrived a little earlier than 1 o'clock, the front desk let us leave the luggage to them, they will help us get into the room later, we bring our own carry-on bag, then give us a few sheets of paper, which reads the hotel For example, you can't feed your own animals, be optimistic about your own children, or choose to eat at night, and have special requirements for meals. During this period, we can't enter our room until 4 o'clock. The hotel is like a big mansion. ~ The lobby is like a large living room with a sofa area and a large dining table. The walls are a large aquarium that is connected to the aquarium and can be accessed at any time. On the other side of the glass door is a terrace with a sofa and a small swimming pool, as well as a monkey's cage.   Probably, at 1:30, they have a rich afternoon tea and fresh fruit (mini burger sandwich, macaron, cake, fruit), drinks with iced tea, carbonated drinks, various juices, sparkling water, and hot tea. Helping to make hot coffee, if you canât eat at noon, you can eat it here~   Then at 2:30, the first zoo sightseeing tour began. The administrators took the tour to the zoo to explain the whole English. The explanations were mainly about some animal introductions, the interesting things of their animal families, and the protection of animals they have contributed to science. A person who is not so good may not be able to comprehend some of the funny stalks that the administrator said. It takes about 2 hours to finish. There is a grandmother who needs to be taken care of by a wheelchair. The hotel and the zoo's overall barrier-free facilities are very comprehensive. Very smooth and happy~   At 4 o'clock we can finally go back to the room to rest! We live in a giraffe room, two people live in a long lemur room, and the giraffe room has a room at 4 o'clock. The administrator has a giraffe to take pictures. The giraffe room can see giraffes and deer, lemur rooms, The lemur is just outside the glass window of the room, and itâs especially cute to see people coming over and selling! We can also see the lion on the window terrace of the No. 2 lemur house. The hotel is open at 6 o'clock~ These two hours are free activities, and the zoo can visit the aquarium. Dinnerđ   Dinner is a fine dinning mode, a lot of glutinous nuts will be very particular about changing a good-looking clothes, drinking wine and snacks at the open bar on the terrace at 6 o'clock, red wine, white wine, champagne beer, the wine here is a good wine, like to drink The pot friends can open their hearts~ But you have to remember that this meal has to be eaten at 10 o'clock in the evening... Don't get drunk in advance.   At 7 o'clock in the evening, I will have a big table with people I don't know. It is very important to master the foreign chat technology. Unfortunately, we have wood, and it is a bit tired this day, so we are suffering from bitterness, ingredients and taste. They are very delicious and fresh! Normal fine dinning eating order Previous dishes Main food Desserts like this ~ Eat 10 points really good support... Still tired ~   After the night, the zoo can't move around at will, so we can go back to the room in the main building of the hotel, but the tiger room and the giraffe room, the room is in the zoo, waiting for the car to be sent back, the basic hotel unless you are the same Stay in the main building, otherwise you will not be able to arbitrarily smash the door.   The next day   Although there is a very rich Western breakfast in the morning, there is a zoo tour at 8 o'clock, so if you don't want to miss it, you have to fill out the breakfast form the day before and choose the sandwich you want to eat (in the room bed, fill it in for dinner) staff member).   In the morning, except for a small part that I saw yesterday, I mainly saw tiger lion rhinoceros, giraffes, and feeding deer alpaca. Then check out~ If you want to experience a few more animals, you can live for a few more days~ However, this hotel I think if you want to live, you can choose your favorite animal room, and English must be good~ Otherwise you will feel tired and boring~ The person staying at the hotel is still a foreigner!
Overall not value for money in my view at $180 per night thru Statesman site. Do look for cheaper rates. Location is very convenient. Not sure what part of the rooms were renovated. Freshish paint? but long brown stain on the bedroom wall, and bubbles on ceiling paint of bathroom. Had to sanitised bathroom door handles, etc. on arrival given hand basin is in bedroom area not bathroom/toilet area. Don't expect a hair drier, shower cap, cotton buds etc. Shower area had 'pink' and brown mold in grout and black bits in corners. Bottom of shower door was moldy/dirty, with mold on door seal. Shower was not cleaned throughout the stay. Room was not vacuumed , white threads etc. still by bed. During the 7 night stay, the room was not serviced except for towel, toilet paper replacement. Ben top sheet was changed once and bed made only once. I saw nothing to advise of this on booking. There was no info on this in the room either that I could see. No 'do not disturb' sign available according to staff, nor lock on the door or chain, so had to make a call on the mornings I was working in room. Will stay in Woden area next time.
The Forest Hotel is best great value for money in Canberra. Whilst it was created in the 1960s, is a solid construction. It is family owned which makes it a very special place in Canberra. From the Owners down, to Reception or the Cleaning Staff they are committed to making your stay in the Forest great. They pride themselves on being the best! They have a great restaurant Monday to Friday. Itâs at night, which does takeaway and room service â they have really nice specials. The pizzas are pretty good as well. I regularly go to Canberra and the Forest is my home from home. The Forest is the best, Forget the rest!
I'm 6'3â and in all honesty the room I stayed in wasn't that Little. There is a library where I was able to walk around, stretch my legs a bit and I am sure there were other facilities I didn't have time to utilize. The staff was amazing, friendly and made me feel comfortable without being cringeworthy. The price was reasonable and the location was just perfect.
This was one of the most memorable experiences we have had. We live in Canberra but wanted to have a staycation for our wedding anniversary. We were greeted on arrival by a very professional and friendly Rupka. He advised that we were lucky to be chosen as âStarâ guests. This enabled us to upgrade our free drinks to cocktails, a full a la carte breakfast, and a late checkout. There were also handmade high quality chocolates in our room on arrival. We enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar area so much we ended up staying there for our anniversary dinner. The room was beautiful. The bed was luxury. The corridors even had bird sounds playing creating a calm atmosphere. The foyer was an architecturally stunning visual. All workers were friendly and welcoming, a sign that they enjoy their jobs and workplace. Special shout out to Rupka who was there again the next day at checkout. Even if you are not chosen to be the âStarâ guest, the free welcome drinks, lolly bar, mini bar in room and breakfast are all incredible touches to a wonderful stay. We will be back for another wedding anniversary!
First impressions of the hotel were good. However, the level of amenities and some of the customer service was disappointing. In the room our bath towels were threadbare and fraying, one of the soap boxes was empty and there was only an office chair to sit on to watch TV. When we requested some extra milk, we returned to our room later to find it dumped on the table rather than placed in the fridge. Returning to the hotel Saturday evening just before 9 pm, we went to the bar area for a coffee only to be told that service had ended and the coffee machine was unavailable. Bar staff were totally disinterested. I should acknowledge that the following evening when we mentioned this matter to a manager, he was very responsive and offered us a free coffee and apology. We felt the accommodation to be reasonably priced but breakfast and car parking costs to be a touch expensive.
I booked a two-bedroom apartment. The room is large and spacious. The view of the hall is mountain view, very beautiful. Once inside the hall is the bar, the lights are dim, the music is delicious, the western food is there, the hotel is very big, the bar is just a few, there is also a movie theater. The decorations are all wood strips, I can't understand them, I feel special art. Both bedrooms have no windows and are just a bathroom. There are many kitchen utensils and many tableware. Breakfast is the kind of order. Very close to the city center, a quiet hotel. More than 2,000 a night, the front desk will not be Chinese, it is a hotel for foreigners. Canberra has a beautiful view and is especially suitable for living.
This hotel is next to the Australian National University. We attended the graduation ceremony of my daughter's master's degree. The stay was very convenient and comfortable. There are special restaurants and bars in the hotel.
Having stayed at the Hotel Realm on numerous occasions for business, my latest visit was predictably very good. My room booking was upgraded on arrival which was a nice touch, as was the complementary beverage ticket. The Hotel Realm has served Canberra well over the years but unfortunately it shows in some aspects. Torn and / or worn carpet in a few places detracts from the overall finish and some refurbishment is in order. Also, you need to be aware that it is a little distance from Canberra City proper or the Kingston / Manuka shops and restaurants. All that said, another very good stay. The staff are friendly and the ambience is what you would expect. Recommended.
