The location is great. The staff are friendly but their local knowledge & advice is weak. The hotel appears to have recently been refurbished as it smells a little of paint & all the furnishings appear new. However, the refurbishment, furniture & design is simply not fit for purpose. The bed/matteress is way too soft & very uncomfortable. The so called double bed is actually 2 single beds pushed together with independent single matteresses & quilts. Niether ideal or comfortable. The lighting is dim & poor, certainly not sufficient for reading, etc. There's no safe box! The bathroom sink is stand-alone & has no shelf or surface around it so you have nowhere to place your toiletries! There is a small shelf above the toilet behind you but it's neither convenient or big enough. The towel rack is too small for the towel & the towel hooks are placed so that the towels cover up the power socket & light switch. They don't allow you to simply buy a coffee or crossant on accasion for breakfast. You have to pay for a full breakfast buffet or have nothing at all. Make sure you don't get a room above the ground floor "Chambre Neuf" bar as the noise from the live music every evening will be horrendous. This could be a great hotel but the style & layout of the rooms & furniture is not fut for purpose or practical & the staff need more local knowledge. It pitches itself as a high end boutique hotel, which is reflected in the fees, but in reality it scraps a 3* at best.

Its a beutiful building on the main streets of Chamonix. Thats where the positive stops, Im afraid. We were a few friends, living in different rooms, the one worse than the other. In general the building smelled like paint and since one of the levels was closed, its safe to asume where it came from. The renovation seemed to happen in strange hours though, so it disturbed in the evenings. I have never been to a hotel with this bad lightening, ever. Its dark, everywhere, and especially in the rooms. We barely saw what clothes we took on, that says enough. One of the rooms were so small we did not even have space to open the suitcase and unpack. But, there were nowhere to put our things anyway. Actually really bad space for hanging clothes, putting things overall and yeah, its difficult to stay in these rooms. The bathroom, also minimal and quite unhygenic. Its in need of renovation. The showerdoor did not stop the water, leeding to a pool on the floor after every shower. And who the f*** still have a glasswall and sliding doors ?! Thats the room which actually had a showerdoor, the other shower was wide open. And lacked the complemantary shampoo. (Which was also used as soap). The heating is of, in different ways through out the building. There is no skiroom as I know it, instead there is a small shed on the yard to put the skis. It smells nasty and has no organisation or heating to dry your gear. A yoke. They have afterski in the building, every day. This is disturbing all over the building but if you are unlucky you will get a room right above and can not count on beeing able to sleep. The location is not bad, but it is quite a walk to all the skibusses. We hade the halfboard package and apart from unexperienced staff and doubtful service, the food were actually surprisingly good. The breakfast however was varied depending on day and time. The cheese could have dried, there was enough bread and things like it. So as you have understood at this point, we were all very dissapointed and critical towards this place. Too bad, the building has more to offer.

Lovely hotel located opposite Chamonix Mont Blanc train station. Fantastic staff and a good breakfast is available from the restaurant attached to the hotel. The rooms are lovely and we were lucky to have a balcony with a mountain view. Lovely furnishings and fantastic bathroom.

Good hotel, nice location, nice breakfast. Everything was comfortable and I don't have anything to complain about really. The rooms are comfortable whilst not the highest quality ever. Overall a good experience.

No doubt that the hotel is old and worn in places but it feels like the owners have prioritized items as the bed and the loo. The bathroom had a really foul smell of sewage at times. We had a room overlooking the street and some evenings we could hear party on the outside. But every time it was quiet at ten. The food is amazing. Well cooked, high quality. The staff is wonderful. Young and eager to help.

The hotel is in a perfect location, right opposite the railway station and very handy for everything in Chamonix. We stayed here for two weeks on half board and were very happy with our choice. Breakfast and the evening meal were mostly served in the bistro/bar area, and there was also the option of dining outside on the terrace overlooking the street, which was lovely. There were few days towards the end of the holiday when the meals were served in the back dining room, which could have benefitted from some better lighting and was a bit gloomy! Anna and Franco, who served in the bar and restaurant, were lovely and couldn't do enough to help. They are a real credit to the hotel. We had a room at the back with a Brevent view, which suited us nicely. We didn't have a balcony, but we didn't spend lots of time in the room, so this wasn't an issue. Some guests we spoke to who had rooms at the front said it could be a bit noisy at nights with people in the bars around the hotel, but we didn't have that problem. The one thing that could do with a bit of improvement was the cleaning of the rooms. There seemed to be lots of big hiking/climbing groups who stay for just one or two nights, and the housekeeping staff were so busy having to completely change all the linens etc that they ran out of time, meaning that on a couple of days, our rooms weren't cleaned. That minor ****** aside, it's a nice, quirky, comfortable hotel, which we would definitely return to.

Avoid this hotel. Avoid it at all cost. Paid for a twin room and got a double room. The staff was clueless. Waisted my time. There are so many more options in Chamonix. The hotel is run down and in a bad shape
