We had a wonderful few days when we met friends at the Hand. It had a lovely atmosphere - Jackie and Johnathan were great hosts, friendly and informative. The food was excellent, the craic at the bar in the evenings was fun, the bed was comfy. It was great to see the drab dreich days of winter being replaced by the vibrant colours of spring. All together, highly recommended.

We had a wonderful one night stay here with our dogs on 1st March for a special St David’s Day celebration. The four course set meal celebrated Welsh food at it's best - great quality food, very tasty and well presented. The staff at this Inn are their best assets - everyone was so friendly and very attentive, with a special mention and thanks to Margo, who was our excellent waitress. Live music entrainment by Marc Macca Jones was great too. A fabulous night - thank you. We'll see you again soon. x

Husband and I both ordered for lunch the pies on the menu, neither of us were disappointed. The beef & ale served with chips, toasted seasonal veg (could have had mash or chips), husband had chicken and leek with mash , roasted veg and an absolutely mouth watering gravy/ sauce. They have managed to maintain a warm traditional pub ambiance and serve fabulous former food … the open fire was also a bonus on a cold wet winters day.

First time visiting the hand and it won’t be our last. Really enjoyed our lunch, the food was lovely, we had the beef and ale pie and lamb, followed by sticky toffee pudding and the pane cotta and can’t fault any of it. The staff were all welcoming and we are looking forward to coming back again soon.

Have been coming here for years. It’s without doubt a slice of heaven. Stayed one night in January, fabulous welcome and service throughout my stay. Steak dinner was tremendous, perfectly cooked with perfect accompaniments. Roaring fire, friendly locals and fascinating other guests. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We visited on NYE whilst away in Wales. All staff were very friendly and helpful, food was delicious...the burgers were amazing! Followed by the treacle sponge which was the best I've had. Great atmosphere and two ladies serving in the restaurant made it a lovely evening.

My fiancée and I visited the Hand on a cold December Tuesday for a spot of lunch. I had visited before many years ago and remembered it to be a cosy pub with excellent food. I had remembered correctly. We were offered a table by the large log fire and our drinks were brought to us whilst we looked over the menu. By no means the biggest choice I’ve ever seen but that is often a good sign. I chose the Gammon and Chips, with a Peppercorn Sauce added, the better half had the Braised Beef Pie. The Gammon was the best I’ve ever had, cooked to perfection, not overly salty like many are. The Chips were incredible, crispy, tasty, and perfect to dip in the pepper sauce, which wasn’t creamy and mild, it was spicy and almost oriental in taste. The Pie came with at least half a pint of gravy, which was a huge bonus, covered in baby onions, and served with more amazing chips and a side plate of vegetables. We both agreed it was fantastic, I had the cheeseboard to follow whilst Sue had the Sticky Toffee Pudding, again both were excellent. The Quince jelly with the cheese was a great addition. We think the bill may have been missing a charge for the pint of Cider I had with my cheese, we will certainly sort that out when we return because we both agreed this was the best pub food we’ve had in years. Thank you to the staff who asked all the right questions at all the right times, we look forward to returning, and we’ll most likely stay the night next time.
