InnsCape on Castle Hotel

Innscape is a 3 star facility in CPT CBD, approx 30 mins drive from CPT Airport. Not your usual hotel, its a place with a style of its own, the raw NYC loft type of style. Either you like it or not. I loved it. Its an old quirky building with a noisy elevator, dripping from pipes etc. single glased windows which will not keep out weather or street noises as Long Street is just around the corner. You need to bring your earplugs when you choose to stay in the CBD. I stayed in the penthouse (503) which is indeed a huge room, with a comfy bed (can I suggest some lights by the bed?), telly, aircon, fridge, kettle & microwawe. The big balcony was a HUGE plus for me. Some days you will be provided with coffee, sugar & creamer and a bottle of water. Wifi is wobbly and you need to log in often. Bathroom small and very dark, showercubicle good size, weak waterpressure and it takes some time for the water to flush out- remember you are in an old building. What I will point out is that bathroom & room needs a good cleaning. I did not include breakfast but I had quite some sandwitches, coffes and juices in the cafe which fits the style of the hotel, open until 3pm. Reception is staffed 24/7 and I am sure you can get cold drinks there after 3PM if needed. I want to thank ALL staff at the hotel for making me feel welcome, I did not meet anything else than kindness, smiles & helpfullness. I would stay again

Depending on your stage of life this hotel could be great or functional - great if on a budget but functional if going for a luxury holiday - reminded me of a student’s gaffe……the immediate area outside a bit dodgy at night (didn’t venture out after dark) but well placed for a city centre …walked to v and a which was pleasant

Location great, but I would expect more from a 3*** hotel. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, however our room definitely needed some attention. One morning we had no water to run the tap, shower or toilet. The drain in the shower needed plumbing, if you had more than a 2 min shower the water was flowing into the room. The cleanliness wasn’t great- see the clump of hair in photo- and the toilet roll rail broke on the first night.

Loved the price for the location you're staying in. Unfortunately windows aren't that tight so if someone was yelling on the street in the middle of the night or partying you'd wake up. Nothing ear plugs can't fix though. Friendly staff and good food. Was fantastic!

Nice location, nice structure/condition, nice staff and nice breakfast.

A good place to stay in Cape Town's city centre. Near Long Street and very convenient. The room was very spacious, shower was fantastic, wifi was fast after a bit of trouble getting connected via the hotel's in-house login procedure, bed was comfortable. Nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room. Only down-side was that my first-floor room looked out into a narrow, dark, dingy courtyard.

My husband had to have an emergency procedure done at Chris Barnard hospital. We stumbled on this wonderful little gem by chance. The staff were utterly amazing and the room clean with crisp linen. They went out of their way to make us comfortable even bringing me s surprise bottle of wine and cupcake for my birthday. It is safe convenient and affordable and certainly I would recommend it to anyone. My only slight hitch was the aircon that dripped water

Over all stay was awesome but the restaurant need to sort their cleanliness.

We booked for several nights from the US before traveling and made sure our reservation was changeable - and documented on paper - since our plans weren't set in stone. The place looked nice online. But when we arrived, we weren't impressed and got bad vibes. The the young man at the desk was pleasant, but wouldn't allow us to change our reservations to just the one night and said to talk to a different person the next morning. Only problem is he wouldn't allow us to check in without paying for the full multiple night reservation we had booked, which of course I was Very skeptical of. But, it was getting dark, there were guys harassing us as we came into the place, the door to the hotel was locked when we arrived, which all gave us bad vibe, and we were told to be cautious going out in this area. So we paid hoping to resolve in the morning, called an Uber and went to a very nice dinner at the waterfront. The guy in the morning called reservations who said cancellation fee was 100% which was not what we showed on our reservation papers, so he wasn't any help either. We got Taken! for a couple hundred dollars. Our room also had a leak when we turned the sink on, water flowed out into the room, and there was a bad odor in the bathroom - they did switch us to a different room due to the leak. Really feel like we were scammed and wouldn't recommend! They also had a little coffee shop attached and the fruit in the display had mold on it...yuck, even more bad vibes... I would not recommend this place. Bad management and staff "pretend" they can't help you. I was not impressed at all! There are much better places to stay!
