Be sure not to miss this one when planning your next escape. We decided to avoid the 'coastal crush' for the recent long weekend and booked the Old Mill. What a pleasant surprise it was! Themed units - we had the Vicarage which is beautifully decorated. A great bed and the spiral staircase was managed easily. As interstate visitors we loved the Old Mill and thoroughly enjoyed our three days in Camperdown

Stayed for two nights in a Queen room over the long weekend. Room was spotlessly clean, spacious with such a comfortable bed. Well equipped with a toaster, kettle and microwave. Benefit for us as an older couple was safe, secure parking outside the unit, with all rooms being on ground level. A short, flat walk to the beautiful town centre.

I just spent 5 nights at this lovely, homely little motel whilst working in the area. My room (17) was spacious and very cosy. The bed was extremely comfortable. I had to battle a little with the shower to get the temperature right but not a big issue. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A 24 hour BP roadhouse is right next door and does some delicious meals. I would definitely stay here again if in area. Thanks for topping up the biscuits each day - really loved that little touch 😊

It just goes to show, you don’t have to travel far from home to escape into a wonderland of relaxation. Heytesbury house is the perfect location for locals from nearby town to recoup their vim and vigour or for travellers from afar to do day trips exploring, and return to a safe, calm haven in the evening. When you walk through the opening in the thick high hedge there is an immediate sense of serenity and stepping into a different time frame and a different world. Even on a winter’s day the white cane chairs on the front veranda look an inviting place to have a cup of tea and bask in the warmth of sunlight that is escaping through the dark clouds. The Drawing Room is magnificent in every detail of elegance. There is a generous supply of board games, DVD’s and books. It is a room equally suited to socializing with other guests or making use of large TV and DVD player to watch a movie, or play a board game. The Alfred Suite that we chose is a delightful blend of dignified and charming, yet evoking a touch of whimsical fantasy. In the night light the room becomes magical like an Enchanted Forest/Wood where the metal circular staircase becomes a manmade magical Faraway tree that might lead to all sorts of mysterious lands. Of course, if you didn’t grow up with Enid Blyton’s ‘The Enchanted Wood’ you might only see the beautiful, romantic setting that is there for all to see. Breakfast is in a large spacious dining room, with large windows that provide views of the garden and the warmth of the winter sunlight. There is a good variety, of appealing options to choose from and requests for slight variations are graciously accepted. The end result is a delightful tasty breakfast that caters for the desires of each guest and I am always very appreciative of that. Thank you Andrew and Kathryn.
