The Best Western Carlton Hotel is a fabulous place to stay in Blackpool, with a fantastic seafront location overlooking the beautiful Fylde coast. Getting to the beach is easy – just walk out the door and cross the road. As the hotel is situated on the slightly less hectic north promenade, you’re minutes from the center of Blackpool and its many attractions and can still enjoy peace and quiet.
Built at the turn of the century, the Best Western Carlton Hotel boasts panoramic scenery across the Irish Sea, as well as a front row view along 12 miles of sandy beaches and the famous Golden Mile. A leisurely stroll will take you to the town center and Winter Gardens, with the best that Blackpool has to offer within easy reach. The iconic Blackpool Tower is impossible to miss, and just a mile away and a little further to the south are the famous amusements of the Pleasure Beach. You’ll know you’re there when you hear the screams of thrill-seekers riding The Big One – the UK’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster. In between, you’ll find Seaworld®, Madame Tussaud’s and more seaside entertainment than you could possibly wish for.
On a practical level, the Best Western Carlton Hotel is just half a mile from Blackpool North station and is ideally located as a conference venue in Blackpool. If you do like to be beside the seaside, this is the hotel for you.

Arrived early to a cheerful greeting from owner Tony.. space made straight away in the free spaces in front of the hotel for our car… Checked in by the daughter in law (sorry forgot your name).. Tony returned , asked our names which he never forgot the whole of our stay..(nice gesture) & showed us to our room which was clean, compact & comfortable… We were ready to go out for the evening & it was absolutely pouring down . Tony’s son (Jay I think?)kindly offered to ring for a taxi for us & it arrived in minutes. (No just pointing numbers out on the notice board) Bed was really comfortable,no springs poking through haha & we slept really well. The whole hotel was beautiful & warm the whole of our stay.. Breakfast was spot on. Cooked to perfection & plenty of it. John asked for a drink of water with his & the second day there was another glass of water on the table ready for him (so thoughtful).. We came here as strangers & really felt like family when we left.. Thank you all for your hospitality, friendliness & a fun filled visit.. We will definitely be back in the future..

This majestic building is steeped in history which really adds to the enjoyment of a stay there. We had 3 nights B&B with friends and also dined in on one evening. Food was excellent but the real standouts were the friendly, helpful staff. Not only did they help with all our holiday stay requirements they shared the story and history of the hotel - which is almost 150 years old. For an old hotel the owners have done a great job in maintaining the building and it was a warm, comfortable setting for an autumn break. Highly recommended.

We have just returned from an overnight stay. We had booked the suite ( coniston). Upon arrival we were quickly dealt with by reception. The hotel is running on a skeleton staff but all were helpful. Our suite wasnt ready but the happily stored our luggage so we could go into Blackpool and would call when it was ready which they did. The hotel itself is in a 10 min walk of the north pier and tower. From the outside it looks a little tired. The main door doesnt work and decor is dated. The suite however was very spacious. It stretched across 5 windows all tower facing with a great view. The only down side to this was the windows needed a good clean. The suite was modern and had 2 bathrooms a dining area a living area and bedroom. It was clean and tidy however there were noticable stains on the carpet and furniture which they had cleaned in the past. But overall was very pleasant. The bath was lovely nice and deep. We only paid 179 for the night when peak charge can be around 300 so i felt at this price it was worth it. The only thing that would of made it better and i would expect if paying top end would be a robe slippers and possible complimentary mini bar. The bed was very comfortable and the addition of a fan was welcomed. However no hairdryer! We didnt eat here as we ate at the beach house (highly recommended and it didnt dissapoint! )At this price point we would return again and plan to in the future.

I just feel the need to give some feedback on the breakfast situation this morning. I have stayed in plenty of travel lodges and found the unlimited breakfast a great option with fast and efficient service. However I didn't experience this at this place this morning. I was appaled that it could take 40mins to get into breakfast just to get a seat. I have two small children, one with additional needs who can't deal with long queues and loud crowds so you can imagine my disappointment when I came down at 8am. I had paid for breakfast as we were going elsewhere straight after so was convenient to us however after waiting in the queue for 5mins I quickly realised that we could not wait in this ridiculous queue, which is not mentioned on the website prior to booking. If this was the case I would no of booked here. Extremely disappointed in travel lodge however they did give me a refund for breakfast so I could go elsewhere. I understand we have to queue, that isn't the problem here. It's the face the dining area is so tiny that about 15 tables are only eating at once so the service isn't efficient and fast as previously experienced at other venues. Also for a family room, one big double bed and 2 single beds. Room was more than enough for one night however facing a main road I heard alot of traffic most of the night which did keep me up. Family rooms would have children staying and I don't think family rooms should be facing the traffic. Distance is brilliant for the front promenade, about 5/6mins walk so if you want to be away from the crowd's I would definitely stay here. I don't feel for the price I paid compared to other travel lodges I have stayed in is great quality for money to be honest. I wouldn't be in a rush to come back unfortunately.

Nothing wrong with the hotel in general, but the PARKING IS £18 PER NIGHT!!!!! A TOTAL RIP-OFF!!
No-one told us the parking was going to cost that much! All it said on the Trip.com website was paid parking, which you don't expect to be £18 per night!!!!
Very disappointing and it spoiled our trip to Blackpool. Don't think we'll be back to this hotel!!

Great little stay hotel staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are very decent in size perfect to have 2 double beds. Rooms were very clean and bright. Tram is a must if the weather is bad! Luckily there's a stop just across the road from the hotel as its 45 mins walk from here to north Pier

With Travelodge it’s cheap, simple and clean. You know what you are getting there’s no messing about. Check in was pleasant and easy. The atmosphere of the hotel is good. The room was spotless and everything is just as you expect. We stayed 2 nights and both were quiet and the bed was comfortable. Great option

GGordonWe were dissappointed in the car parking situation. It wasn't exactly made clear that you need to drive into where it was marked exit and press for them to lift the barrier. Then unfortunately there was no room so had to call into reception to find out where we could park it was a bit stressful and could have been avoided. The hotel itself is very secure as you need to press for access to the entrance. Once up to reception on the first floor we were welcomed and allocated a room. The room was very tired with marked and scratched walls and ceiling. The bathroom had all the ususl facilities but a great big crack was in the tiles on the floor about two and half feet long. The shower head was dirty and the bottom of the main door was peeling away. The bed was two single mattresses put together which were obviously well used and meant there was a bump in between which wasnt very comfy. The bar was expensive for drinks and the staff seemed to multitask serving and cleaning tables etc. Some of the same staff were at breakfast and it just felt a bit overall short staffed. The breakfast itself was adequate but basic. We did notify reception on checking out of our findings as we are not usually ones to complain but the issues do make a difference and some just general maintenance.
KKellyEverything about our stay was fantastic greeted beautifully when we got there, room was lovely and clean, facilties brilliant, never a bad holiday experience hotel is beautiful, staff are always so lovely and the entertainment was brilliant will be booking again soon best hotel in blackpool didnt want to leave always a pleasure to stay there my son really enjoyed it wants to come back already you all take care be booking again soon could please keep me updated with the entertainment that's on for the rest of the year
AAnonymous UserGood value for money, you can stay for one night at this price. The location is also good. There is a supermarket nearby. If you want to go out, you can buy the necessary items in a few minutes, but the ventilation is not very good.
GGuest UserWe visited this place with friends, 5 of us, and got a great service for 5 people in 2 different rooms. We shared one toilet. We paid 118 quids for service which is quite nice for 5 people staying for a night. As we were visiting the Blackpool pleasure beach and carrying backpacks would have been difficult so we requested the hotel staff to keep our luggage while we checked out and were gone out for the entire day, and thankfully they agreed. All in all I loved the overall service, highly commendable.
GGuest UserWe stayed here for a cheap night away with our 8 year old, most hotels were more expensive and didnt offer much as in were very small no bar or entertainment. The bar was really big and had a sea view we had a few drinks before we went out for tea. There was a dancefloor and stage. Plenty of space for my son to play around whilst we had a drink. Tram stop right outside to the town. Room was very spacious yeh it wasn't the newest but with the price i wasn't expecting it to be. However it was clean and comfy. We had a Seaview room but had scaffolding outside our window so the window was quite dusty but that couldn't be helped. We didnt eat there however we walked past the breakfast buffet and everything looked lovely and i did look at the hygiene rating and its a 5 so. Check in was super fast and parking for the night was only £3. The hotel had a singer on and the kids were happy playing on the dancefloor so family friendly. There is also a pool which we didn't get chance to use but a great facility for the price. I would defo visit again
GGuest UserOverall this hotel was nice great location, also on the the beach, good transport and easy to walk to town centre, good facilities, only flaw was it was our first visit to the hotel and I booked a family of 5 room with a sea view costing 78 pounds and on arrival was given a family of 4 room with no sea view only costing 65 pounds which I know as it stated the price on the receipt I was given by reception on arrival
GGuest UserClean and tidy room, quad with private bathroom, 2 double beds. Blinds on windows instead of curtains and not blackout blinds, which left gaps in so people could see into room. Tv and tea/coffee in room. No breakfast available as no chef currently employed. £50 cash deposit must be given on check-in which was returned with no problem after room inspection. Well stocked bar and karaoke with bingo was played on Friday and Saturday night. Parking available at £10 a night but looked a bit risky out the back so didn’t park here. Reception not always manned and can be a long wait for someone to come after pressing bell. No hot water on 2nd morning so it looks like the early risers take all the hot water. For the price for a family of 4 over easter it wasn’t as bad as some reviews.
