Bjarnanes Hotels & Accommodations

This hotel had some pluses, and some minuses so here goes. The room was a good size and clean. However, the bathroom was so small that when you took a shower, everything in it got soaked. The sink was so small I could only get one hand under it, which was challenging. Breakfast was very good but gets crowded, so get there early. A few words of warning; the hotel is 2 levels and there is no elevator, so if you are unable to carry your luggage upstairs, this is going to be a challenge for you. Also, as with every other hotel we stayed in in Iceland, it has no blackout curtains so bring an eye cover if you need darkness to sleep. We did not hear any noise during the night despite the hotel being full. Finally, we called in the morning to confirm our room, which was supposed to be one queen and one double bed, however, the room we were given had 3 twin beds. A bit disappointing as the hotel was full so we could not get the room we booked.

The service is normal, the location of the hotel is very remote,  is suitable for people watching stars or watching the aurora, but you have to be lucky with the weather, and you can bask in 9 air. The waiter service in the noodle restaurant is very good 👍🏻 The front desk is numb, clearly write left into the aurora aurora alam list but has not mentioned my place at all, thankfully I have a trip to go!

We were enthusiastic and that is not easy to enthusiastic. We have seen some cashes in Iceland, but this hotel has very much liked us. You have to always see this compared to other hotels, because hotel prices in Iceland are overall quite high. It is on the shore and near the port. Our room was spacious, bright, simple and tastefully furnished and large enough for two people. Breakfast was OK. At the port are nice restaurants in the proximity of the run, where we have had a very good meal. It is best suited for a stop on the Island Round trip.

In the small town of Hofn. Very small rooms. No cupbard. Very small sink and shower stall. Comfy beds. Near town amenities with supermarket. No bottled water, slippers, robes, safe etc. Kettle with coffee and tea. Actual keys to rooms vs key cards.

My wife and I completed the ring road in September. Almost all our stays were at AirBnb but we could not find an affordable one near Hofn. So we grinded our teeth and picked out a hostel. My memories of hostels from 20 years ago was a bunch of drunk students and beds stacked on top of each other with a shower from the 1800's. We were blown away how clean and well lit our room was. There were two different washroom/showers. One for the three rooms upstairs and one for the two rooms upstairs. The kitchen was one of the nicest galley kitchen I have ever seen with new shelfs, great selection of pots and pans. The living room was very bright and a fantastic view. The owner greeted us as we arrived earlier than we planned and was very warm and bubbly.

The room is still a bit smelly, the quadruple room is big but the toilet is small, and there are not many places to put suitcases, the breakfast is average, the choice is not very rich. Fortunately, it is very close to the famous lobster restaurant and can be reached by car in about 10 minutes.

Anche qui solo una notte ma passata senza particolari problematiche. Abbiamo avuto una camera da 5 con bagno incluso, pulita, non molto spaziosa per la verità coi bagagli in mezzo, ma organizzata e con telerie a disposizione. Bagno invece ampio e funzionale. Non abbiamo provato la cucina perché la cena l'abbiamo fatta fuori ma la sala pranzo mi è sembrata sottodimensionato in caso di accesso oltre il limite.
