Have stopped on holiday in the village a few times and can safely say the Bull is amazing. Friendly hosts in Tracey and Lisa who are doing an amazing job. No nonsense pub that serves great food at realistic prices. All the locals are friendly and willing to chat about anything. Did the quiz night and that was great fun and well attended. We have been when the Bull was not open and can safely say something was missing in the village. If your in the area on a Sunday then get your Sunday lunch booked it’s great value. Thanks Tracey and Lisa for making our visits that much more enjoyable.

Not a fave of pancake day so instead decided to go to the Black Bull and take up the offer of 2 meals for £10. What an offer it is, definitely can’t complain for the value of money, plenty of food and it tasted absolutely beautiful. I had cornbeef rissole which is an all time fave of mine and it was not disappointing and my partner had the fish finger sandwich and in his words “it was a beast”. It looked amazing if am honest and wanted that myself as well lol. I will be returning even if the 2 for £10 isn’t on but if you can catch it when it is on you’re in for a bargain. Enjoy. Thanks again The Black Bull.

Today we attended a Halloween pumpkin carving event for children and families and it was fab! Tracy (the boss) put so much thought into making this day fantastic, and everytime I've been here the main thing I always notice is Tracy is so attentive, she always wants everyone to completley enjoy themselves and she goes out of her way to make everyone so welcome , you need that! I want to walk into a pub and feel that I'm wanted there, that there happy to see me,happy for my custom, and she does just that! 5☆ thanks so much to Tracy and her staff xxx

Sorry to have to write a bad review but thought the management of the pub should know of this. There were 14 adults and 1 child we booked our table well in advance and all of us were really looking forward to a Sunday lunch. All of our meals were clay cold and very sp****,3 of our party were vegetarian and had ordered nut roast they received some sort of pie and when they asked for vegetarian gravy they got some sort of gloop. We were sitting in the bar area first an the gentleman who was sitting in the bay window, his meal looked fantastic and we all thought, this meal is going to be nice. Oh and the Yorkshire Puds were tiny almost like a dumpling. On a nicer note the bar staff an the 2 waitresses were so nice. The only thing I can think of was that there was too many of us to serve dinner hot. What a shame because its a lovely place.

Three of us visited last Friday lunchtime to a very warm welcome from the new owners. Choice on menu suited all of us and prices are very reasonable. Particularly enjoyed the smoked cod fishcakes and just managed to find room for the delicious Battenberg cheesecake. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

We visited the Black Bull for an evening meal last Saturday and whilst it was busy, service was swift, we were greeted with a warm friendly smile and a 'I wont keep you 2 mins goes a long way' when a bar is busy so that was appreciated. There is plenty of selection on the menu for everyone and they even cater for Vegan. Veggie and Gluten Free which is a nice change to see. Would be nice to perhaps see the specials on a menu board. Prices are reasonable and on a level with the surroundings pubs I had the Black Bull Burger which was very tasty, the cheese sauce was delicious as was the chilli black pudding which I had not had befor, great to have homemade chips on the plate also as well as coleslaw. Nicely presented. My partner had the Lasagne which was also very tasty, nice and crispy on the edges just the way I like it and nice to have proper garlic bread and not frozen. We didnt have room for desserts unfortunately but the customers over from us had them and wow they looked good so maybe next time. The ladies toilets could do with a refurbishment but nevertheless they were clean which is a deal breaker for my partner. Nice big beer garden to the rear with brollies for shade. The new owners have only just taken over in the last few months so hats off to them. We will be back and would recommend

Father’s Day, couldn’t be bothered to do lunch so decided to try a take away from the Black Bull, Wolsingham. Best decision ever! No stress getting dinner ready and very little washing up afterwards. Food was beautiful, my partner had chicken which in his words was cooked to perfection. I had pork which was lovely and tender. Was good value for money and a decent size portion. The steepy peas were devine and get a 10/10. Dinner in full gets a 9/10 because there’s always room for improvement and we could of done with a couple more roast potatoes because we love them and we greedy ha. Will definitely be back and look forward to trying an evening meal.

We landed @ 4 which is late got booked in 6 very welcoming. Big room comfortable bed but drain in shower hadn't been cleaned. Someone knocked on our door before we got to door they were trying to open it rude. Then we went for food which they accommodate us as food stops being served round about 7. My curry was not good poppadom was dripping in greese my partners burger was raw blood in the middle it was a burger with cheese and bacon. Took it back a dry bread bun came back with no cheese or bacon was disgusting. Round a bout 10 in evening staff member knocked at our door in she walked into our room and said oh there's just the two of you then went into the bathroom and flushed the toilet. She said she was doing a health and safety check then left I was disgusted that is an invasion of privacy. Never before has this happened I'd been to work that day and could've been asleep. Health and safety went out the window regarding the food and the cleaning products and hoover left outside our room and the dirty shower drain. I don't know if this place is just starting out but we would not be returning.
