Domus Bellagio

The hotel facilitates smoking on the balconies altho there is a NO SMOKING sign in the lobby. Balconies are just separated by a divider so sickening secondary smoke wafts onto adjacent and upper floor balconies and into rooms. In our case, the manager, Valantina, graciously asked the smoker couple to do so on the roof terrace, which they did, but there should be No Smoking areas on the roof terrace so no smoking guests can enjoy the view of Lake Como. Smoking should be prohibited on the balconies. It almost ruined our stay in this lovely setting. Bruce, Washington DC Oct. 2023.

Abusive prices and no facilities. Horrific. This has to be the most expensive and overrated “hotel” we ever stayed in. First, it isn’t a hotel. It is a room in a house of rooms. There is no common area, no breakfast area, no lounge, no pool, no night concierge. Breakfast? They give you a voucher of 5 euros to walk five minutes to a bakery that serves coffee and all fattening bread items, nothing healthy. Check out? Must be at 10:00 in the morning! First time in my life I see this! Not announced on their site or in their reservation details. The room was modern, clean, reasonably equipped and nice views but that’s it. Fortunately they let us cancel after one night stay charging us €380 which we paid before seeing that on line booking agents were offering that night at less than €300. At any rate we are grateful they released us from the rest of our 4 day booking, and we are now comfortably settled in a real hotel for the remainder of our stay.

I've never paid so much and gotten so little at a hotel. For over $400 a night I was shocked at the bare-bones nature of this hotel. No curtains, only sheers so we were woken up at dawn. No wash cloths. No door on the shower, leaving toilet and floor soaking wet. No end table on my side of the bed, just a mini fridge (is this a dorm??) Hair dryer so weak it would have taken hours. No soapdish- soap just sloppily laying there. Staff didn't tell us all the information when we checked in so we were clueless. The location was awful too. We were over 30 minutes by foot from town with no sidewalk, a dangerous walk. So we drove, and it was so crowded it took an hour to park. Miserable trip, sickened by how much we overpaid for this place.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Domus 3 nights while in Bellagio. Due to transportation troubles we had a horrible morning on our arrival day. Upon arrival all that faded away due to the friendly and helpful staff at Domus. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable and to forget about our troublesome morning. Our room was cozy and we had the best view. Staff was a quick WhatsApp message away for anything extra we needed.

A lovely clean apar**ent block, with a reception desk near the front door. Great comms from the owner, both before and after. We arrived later than planned and she was very helpful and gave us door codes etc. Immaculate room, we had a lake view which is so worth it, as the views were amazing and the balcony peaceful. There is a rooftop area you can sit on as well, but to be honest we never even looked at it as we didn't need it. Plenty of parking for your car, and I would recommend you have one, it is a 5-10 min drive into Bellagio. A lot of people say don't have a car you cannot park, our experience was having a car was excellent, easy to get around, ok to park, certainly not as hard as people say, and the ferries mean you can circle the lake far better than on foot. Breakfast, what a great idea. You get vouchers each day ( given to you at the beginning of your stay) to stroll down to the local patisserie, enjoy your drink/croissant/sandwich etc as your leisure in a lovely little square.

Breakfast was supposed to be included. Day before they informed it is a box. Well, it was some biscuits... Heating was not working. Attitude was like "customer is wrong" and tried to charge us some extra when we checked out.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL PLEASE AVOID!!! They have wrecked the first day of our honeymoon. Spoke to a member of staff called Tony who gave us the wrong number for a pick up. Then was extremely rude to us. Then said he’d “MAYBE” collect us. We ended up waiting so long we booked into another hotel. They then rang us back and charged us the full amount and said it was our fault. It has cause us a lot of upset. PLEASE AVOID.

We stayed for one night during a trip around northern Italy. The hotel is located up the hill out of the town but it is easy enough to get there if needed. This is a good thing as the views that it provides are incredible. The hotel has a really comfortable feel to it and is very clean with everything clearly thought about in great detail. Rooms are very comfortable and has all the amenities you need. Bathroom is very nice indeed with a very good shower! The lady who checked us in was extremely friendly and really made our stay very special. Went above and beyond and we cannot thank her enough! Will always have fond memories of our stay and would love to go back again one day!

This is a lovely place to stay in. The rooms were beautiful. The views from the room and the roof terrace were stunning 😍 For breakfast you get paper vouchers which you use in a little cafe up the road (all pastries and sweet things though, no protein or anything healthy!) The staff (only one on duty at a time) were lovely, friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. Beware: it is a 30 minute walk into Bellagio old town on very skinny roads with no footpaths!!! All downhill going in and all uphill going back. You really do need a car!!!!!!
