The 5-star experience commenced with a well-appointed and serene room, offering a spacious environment that was both restful and relaxing. The array of amenities provided by the resort was truly remarkable. The attention to detail was evident in every facet, from the well-maintained grounds to the thoughtfully curated in-room features. The seamless blend of modern comfort and traditional aesthetics added a unique charm to the overall ambiance. One aspect that stood out remarkably was the staff’s kindness and attentiveness. Their commitment to ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay was palpable, and it greatly contributed to the overall positive experience. Their impeccable service went beyond expectations, creating an atmosphere of genuine warmth. A highlight of the stay was the unexpected delight of encountering monkeys on the resort’s grounds. Komaneka at Rasa Sayang Ubud

Ubud Bali|0.09km from Starchild Bali
I always love staying at Komaneka Rasa Sayang when in Ubud and have stayed there many times on my own, with friends and with family. My last visit was with my brother who joined me from Cape Town. He absolutely loved it. The service is exceptional and I always feel very spoilt by the amazing staff and it does feel like it is my second home in Bali. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Ubud. From the moment I arrive, I am always welcomed back like family. The rooms are so beautiful and spacious with gorgeous bathrooms and balconies with daybeds overlooking lush greenery. A jar of home made cookies and fruit basket is a lovely touch. The hotel is set back from the main road but it is so peaceful and only steps away from the centre of Ubud with lots of great shops and restaurants and the monkey forest. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing surrounded by palm trees, nature and the sound of running water from the river below. The staff are so attentive at the pool and it is a great spot to enjoy the daily complimentary afternoon tea. The breakfast is delicious and has lots of variety. The restaurant setting is beautiful overlooking the pool. If something is not on the breakfast menu, just ask and the staff will go out of their way to make it for you if possible. I wish to compliment Ari at reception for her exceptional and always polite and friendly service. I did miss seeing Ibu Desak and Sitiari this time. Can’t wait to be back there again

Hotel location is very good, very close to Ubud Palace and the market. Located at the end of an alley, the alley is a small B&B. The size of this house is big in the alley, and it is also the landlord who wants to come to the boss. The courtyard is full of green plants, very beautiful. There is a small swimming pool, the water is very shallow, can only be seen from the landscape, can not swim. The solid wood furniture in the room is slightly old and sanitary. The Wi-Fi I rented didn't signal in the room, and the hotel's Wi-Fi was intermittent. We stayed in the house for a few days, only one Chinese. The amount of breakfast is small and the taste is average. The hotel staff is very friendly. Overall cost-effective, recommended.

Our first trip back to Bali after Covid. We finished our holiday with 3 nights at Barong Resort. From entering the resort we were warmly welcomed by the happy, friendly & attentive staff. We were very grateful for the high level of service throughout our stay. The a la carte breakfast had lots of selections. The three of us settled comfortably into our pool villa. Spacious rooms & outdoor lounging areas. We loved the thoughtful surprises left every day. Perfect location right in the centre, easy walking to many attractions. Thank you everyone at Barong Resort for an enjoyable stay.

The hotel is in a good environment. It is a place to eat and go shopping. It is about ten minutes walk from Ubud Palace Monkey Forest Park. You can order a daily breakfast according to your preference, and the breakfast tastes good.

Even though the resort has only been open a few months since Covid the staff and facilities were great. Views to die for and the pool and breakfast area are away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. Location is perfect and close to bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, money changers, etc. Room size is above average and decorated in true Balinese style. Serene, peaceful, pure bliss, and would highly recommend.

The location of this hotel is great - within walking distance to money forrest, supermarkets, ubud markets, restaurants, city centre etc etc. The pool is very clean and lovely. We got this hotel at an amazing price. My only complaint would be there was a little smell from the bathroom and the staff dont have a key to your room so it isnt cleaned unless you ask them to. The outside of the hotel is very clean so they are willing to help you. The staff are lovely and all you need to do is ask if you need something and they will be more than happy to help you. The breakfast was ok had a choice between omelette or pancakes but some people asked for eggs other ways and they were happy to oblige. As it's close to monkey forrest some monkeys come round about 7am to raid the bins so dont leave any bags on the balcony. They are only there for about 10 mins then leave. I personally though that was pretty cool! Lovely budget hotel with pool.

More about Bali

Introduction to Bali

Bali, an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, and stunning beaches, is the country's most famous tourist destination. Filled with ancient temples, rich arts and crafts, and a vibrant nightlife, Bali offers a kaleidoscopic blend of natural beauty and cultural depth.

Tips for Travelling to Bali

Bali's main international gateway is Ngurah Rai International Airport, located near the capital city, Denpasar. Travelers can explore Bali through taxis, local buses, bicycles, motorbikes, or even hired cars.

The official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Most hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, but having some cash on hand for local markets and smaller venues is recommended. Indonesian is the official language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

As for visas, many nationalities can enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days, but it's best to check before your journey.

Popular Attractions in Bali

Bali offers a wealth of cultural and natural attractions. Explore the ancient temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, or immerse yourself in the artistic heritage of Ubud, Bali's cultural heart. Visit the Tegalalang Rice Terraces and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary for unique experiences.

Bali's beaches are equally enticing, with Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Nusa Dua Beach offering vibrant beach life. Surfing enthusiasts will love the waves at Uluwatu and Canggu.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear

Bali enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures fairly consistent year-round. The best times to visit are during the dry season, from April to October. Bring lightweight, breathable clothing, a hat, and sunscreen to protect from the sun. Also, remember to dress modestly when visiting temples.

Choosing Your Ideal Hotel in Bali

For luxury beachfront accommodation, consider the Legian Bali or the W Bali in Seminyak. In Ubud, the Hanging Gardens of Bali offers a unique luxury experience with its Instagram-famous infinity pool.

For budget travelers, the Puri Garden Hotel and Hostel in Ubud offers comfort and excellent service. The Dash Hotel Seminyak, with its eclectic and colorful design, is an Instagram-worthy stay.
