- The owner met us at the fast boat in Mushroom Bay and helped us with our luggage. This was so nice of them. They even helped us dropping our bags to Mushroom Bay at the end of our stay too. - 2 min walk to Mushroom bay. Having been around most of Nusa Lembongan, we certainly preferred the atmosphere and vibe of Mushroom Bay. - 15-20 min walk to Dream Beach, Devil Tear and Sunset Point - Tanis boats run from Sanur to/from Mushroom Bay. Highly recommend hard case suitcases if there’s swell, they will get WET! :). We did find it hard to find the Tanis office in Sanur as there are two offices. The owner dropped us a location pin and this was perfect. - Toilet outside means you can hear when your neighbours have Bali belly 😂 - Nice simple breakfast, good if you’re watching your calories 🥳 - Water costs 5k for small refill or 10k for a large refill - Small cooler/fridge in room - Decent AC/heat pump in the room - We booked private snorkelling organised by the owner. This was excellent and would highly recommend if you cannot fit in the group snorkelling sessions. - We booked a Nusa Penida tour which the owner organised. We asked if this included being able to do the Kelingking beach walk as this was important to us. The owner confirmed it does allow for this. But the drivers do not let you do the walk. I would not recommend this tour and would recommend you organise this yourselves. Also found varying prices for others on the tour and we had paid the most. - Pool looks bigger in the pictures but nice for a quick dip to cool down. Hard to swim lengths :) - Mosquito netting needed a clean - Overall it’s a great place on Lembongan and I would definitely stay here again

After reading the other reviews I was a bit nervous. We had a good time here for 7 nights. I can only conclude that this is the kind of place an uptight person can really get uptight. The water is slightly salty so not great for boiling to drink. The hot water went off but they fixed it immediately. They clean the room when you ask, but not if you don’t. Re the whole breakfast thing - you DO get eggs AND toast AND condiments - and they gave us extra when we asked. The menu says eggs only. The banana pancakes and freshly squeezed juice was nice. Indonesians don’t seem to eat big meals and all meals everywhere were moderately sized. The staff don’t speak much English which probably compounds the uncertainty for anyone feeling unhappy. But they speak enough to get your point across and try to help. The thin walls were helpful for our family as whilst the hut was separate, you had to go out and around to enter the other room. Lovely gardens and pools, very close to the water and a cracker of a coffee shop out the front. We felt safe, the kids could play in the compound gardens safely and this was a restful stay for us. Payment was hassle free by credit card. We didn’t need to show the price we secured online. It’s a bit of a walk to playgrounds surf spot but doable- probably too far for lacerations or shipwrecks. The snorkelling out front is nice. Really nice beach but lots of boats. Secret beach around the headland has no boats (really close). In summary this place has charm but if you would describe yourself as particular, fussy or uncomfortable with uncertainty, it might not be for you.

Hai Tide Beach Resort

Nusa Lembongan
My husband & I spent 5 great days at Hai Tide. We stayed in a romantic and cosy Beach Front Deluxe room (traditional style ”Lumbung” built with natural materials). These villas form a close little ”village” at the beach- and you could not ask for a more romantic setting & ambience! Note that the rooms are extremely small, so big suitcases have to be stores in reception and dresses hung outside on the balcony ;) The view from a beach Lumbung is exceptionally beautiful over the turcoise bay. Relaxing on the balcony or on the private sun beds underneath is just heaven! Bathroom with shower is good. There are two swimming pools, but we preferred swimming from the beautiful beach. There are many boats mooring off the beach, but enough room to swim Anyway. Mushroom bay is the perfect getaway, with enough restaurants & a village with small shops & massage places (cheap!) and we liked it very much. The restaurants at the hotel are attractive and serves good food. As we liked around the bay, we can definately say that Hai Tide is the best place to stay!

Beautiful boutique resort with the best view ever. We stayed here for 2 nights. It’s lovely to see the boats with people come and go at the beach and the big volcano mountain on Bali in the distance. The rooms were really clean and comfortable and the best part were the showers in the open air. The beach bar/ restaurant made every fruit juice and cocktail from fresh fruit. Breakfast is a la Carte.

The location is next to the mushroom beach, less than 100 meters, the entire resort is a small courtyard, clean and tidy, very good, the restaurant is outside the courtyard near the beach. It is worth mentioning that his staff and boss are very nice. Originally we planned to go directly from Lembongan to Gili Island, but due to the waves, the speedboats stopped, their employees and bosses actively assisted us in coordinating and booking for us back to Bali. The ticket and the chartered car after disembarkation are very warm and trustworthy!

The environment is great, less than two minutes from the mushroom beach, Very suitable for couples to live, but there is no hot water nor hair dryer TV, Other bath supplies etc... need to be brought by yourself. If you want to snorkel, you can ask the hotel to help arrange it, and the price is very cost-effective. There will be more mosquitoes outdoors, remember to apply mosquito repellent! Very good value hotel.

More about Bali

Introduction to Bali

Bali, an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, and stunning beaches, is the country's most famous tourist destination. Filled with ancient temples, rich arts and crafts, and a vibrant nightlife, Bali offers a kaleidoscopic blend of natural beauty and cultural depth.

Tips for Travelling to Bali

Bali's main international gateway is Ngurah Rai International Airport, located near the capital city, Denpasar. Travelers can explore Bali through taxis, local buses, bicycles, motorbikes, or even hired cars.

The official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Most hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, but having some cash on hand for local markets and smaller venues is recommended. Indonesian is the official language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

As for visas, many nationalities can enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days, but it's best to check before your journey.

Popular Attractions in Bali

Bali offers a wealth of cultural and natural attractions. Explore the ancient temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, or immerse yourself in the artistic heritage of Ubud, Bali's cultural heart. Visit the Tegalalang Rice Terraces and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary for unique experiences.

Bali's beaches are equally enticing, with Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Nusa Dua Beach offering vibrant beach life. Surfing enthusiasts will love the waves at Uluwatu and Canggu.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear

Bali enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures fairly consistent year-round. The best times to visit are during the dry season, from April to October. Bring lightweight, breathable clothing, a hat, and sunscreen to protect from the sun. Also, remember to dress modestly when visiting temples.

Choosing Your Ideal Hotel in Bali

For luxury beachfront accommodation, consider the Legian Bali or the W Bali in Seminyak. In Ubud, the Hanging Gardens of Bali offers a unique luxury experience with its Instagram-famous infinity pool.

For budget travelers, the Puri Garden Hotel and Hostel in Ubud offers comfort and excellent service. The Dash Hotel Seminyak, with its eclectic and colorful design, is an Instagram-worthy stay.
