Natya River Sidemen

Really amazing place. Wild close to a river. Bali (wild) country side pure. Infrastructure well maintained and at an excellent level for a glamping place. Staff friendly and helpful. Local food pretty good too. All for a very modest price. Yet..there is a big BUT..its definitely lacking a concept. It was the case in 2022 and still now. Since it cant be that (sorry) mainly locals (my partner is from Bali) do book evenings for very loud karaoke events. Staff also is keeping the music in the evening extremly loud. During the day you have school classes having big fun in the pool. As paying guest well you leave the place right away since even so we love kids..yet it gets obviously very loud. (Loud) construction is ongoing also for local house” which will be used apparently as planned for the weekend big DJ music sessions..a little info and sorry about the even at night ongoing construction would have been appreciated.. So glamping is for at least our understanding about enjoying nature, eventually local (healthy) food and why not yoga classes or as planned too local cooking classes. Natya river could have that all in a unique way. (Unfortunatelly) as currently the case its a big mainly kind of amusement park until partly late at night...yet if continued like that then we predict it will never really work well especially during the week. Also it will hardly be appreciated by foreigners and many locals neither who all seek rather the first aspects than loud music, screaming day visitors etc. which you can get in Canggu etc. So we strongly recommend implicating our greatest admiration for natya river (and its truth potential) that (finally) the management and owner family rethink and set a smart positioning for this precious place. Yet to be rather frank if it stays as currently the case we wont be able to recommend a (glamping) stay.
Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali

We have just completed a magical 10 days at Wyndham Jivva Beach. We are long term Wyndham members (owners) and have stayed at many of their hotels and resorts. Jivva Beach rates at the top of the list for us. It's just far North East of Denpasar to be out of the rat race but still within easy reach of Sanur and other tourist attractions. Apart from its idyllic setting, the staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. A special mention to the head chef Gusti who has a wealth of experience at 5 star international hotels. His leadership ensured a high level of cuisine at every meal. And Wijaya, the food and beverage manager led a team of wait staff which would be hard to beat anywhere. There are no shops close by, but we booked half day tours using local drivers at very reasonable prices (IDR 600,000 for 5 hours), so we were able to visit many local attractions. We also took the ferry to the island of Penida across the Badung Strait ~ well worth the time to do this. We were surprised that the beach (which is very close), is made of black sand ~ not a problem for us, but maybe for some. In essence, we love Wyndham Jivva and intend to visit again in 2024.

Such a beautiful place! I felt so comfortable and wish I could have stayed longer. The staff is lovely and super helpful - thanks again to Windu for helping me super spontaneously with transportation issues. They also serve delicious food. The area is quite untouristy, so if you want a break from busy Bali, enjoy beautiful views and, ricefields and a village with very friendly locals. Don't expect luxurious bathrooms. But everything needed is there and works fine.

More about Bali

Introduction to Bali

Bali, an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, and stunning beaches, is the country's most famous tourist destination. Filled with ancient temples, rich arts and crafts, and a vibrant nightlife, Bali offers a kaleidoscopic blend of natural beauty and cultural depth.

Tips for Travelling to Bali

Bali's main international gateway is Ngurah Rai International Airport, located near the capital city, Denpasar. Travelers can explore Bali through taxis, local buses, bicycles, motorbikes, or even hired cars.

The official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Most hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, but having some cash on hand for local markets and smaller venues is recommended. Indonesian is the official language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

As for visas, many nationalities can enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days, but it's best to check before your journey.

Popular Attractions in Bali

Bali offers a wealth of cultural and natural attractions. Explore the ancient temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, or immerse yourself in the artistic heritage of Ubud, Bali's cultural heart. Visit the Tegalalang Rice Terraces and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary for unique experiences.

Bali's beaches are equally enticing, with Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Nusa Dua Beach offering vibrant beach life. Surfing enthusiasts will love the waves at Uluwatu and Canggu.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear
