Perfect location in the middle of a rice field, if you want to relax away from the noise of the city and meet fewer tourists, this is really ideal. There is a very pretty waterfall accessible in 30/40 minutes on foot and the hotel staff explains how to get there as soon as you arrive. Munduk is a town not often visited by tourists so you will usually have the waterfall all to yourself and the people you meet on the way through the village will be very pleasant locals who will greet you all, take an interest in the place where you are from and some even offer to visit their homes and inner temples. The bungalows are clean and comfortable. The beds have mosquito nets and the room has a fan, which is more than enough given that in this part of the island the temperature is a little lower than in the south. The bungalows are made of wood, so they keep the room cool quite well, however they are not very well insulated in terms of noise, the sounds of nature are not very disturbing and even rather relaxing, there are a few frogs, cicadas, and singing birds in the garden surrounding the bungalows and in the rice field and if you need a lot of silence to be able to sleep, it is better to bring earplugs. 🙂 The swimming pool is clean and accessible 24 hours a day. The restaurant is decent and has Balinese dishes and also Western dishes like carbo pasta or burger if you prefer the usual cuisine. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Just a small downside, it is possible to get to Munduk using apps like grab or bluebird but quite difficult to get one from Munduk to another part of the island depending on the day and time, and taxis offered by the hotel or local companies are a little more expensive but we organize ourselves and negotiate a little it remains more than affordable. I paid around 50 euros for a taxi to Uluwatu, which is completely south of the island and therefore a three hour drive. Very good value for money, I loved my stay at the Atres Villa and I would definitely come back if I had the chance.
