1st room smelled of and was damp. 2nd room, the bath leaked, the air con did not work. Worken by noisy guests who it turned out were a rugby group. Restaurant closed due to a kitchen fault. No mobile reception in the room (131). We left early asking for a refund, given a card with a number to ring, the agent really did not care at all Apparently none of the issues we had warranted a refund of the one night we were expecting to get back. Very poor service, just don't bother! After being frequent customers we will not be using Premier Inn again.

Generally up to Premier Inn standards but this site needs better management as there were a number of minor issues and possibly to be closed for a refit. None the less it served its purpose for us as a stopover on a trip "up north"

We were delighted by the very helpful and friendly staff at both the Inn and neighbouring Beefeater. It was the friendliest place we have stayed in. The receptionists were particularly helpful sorting out the WiFi on my phone. It couldn't have been a more pleasant stay. Thank you.

Modern large and clean room, nice and quiet at night, good value for the price. However breakfast (done by the Beefeater next door) a little disappointing - no fresh juice and a reluctance to invest in new effective toasters. Be aware this hotel has zero phone reception for Three network. Also don't be taken in by the free wifi - the free option is terribly slow.

Stayed here for a night last week. I was given a room in the original building. Unfortunately no phone reception or WiFi and the tv hardly had any channels on it and I was unable to retune. Room was dated but was clean enough. Nice quiet area during the night and restaurant was ok next door.

My initial experience got off to a positive start by front of house / receptionist Megan who answered all my concerns and put me in a good mood. Later on Megan went the extra mile by fixing my unusual situation. Also the cleaning staff were very helpful and friendly and Jade was a good example of that ,couldn’t wait to help me. To be honest all the staff are very friendly and helpful, reminding me of the 5 star hotels I used to stay in my previous business days, that good in fact. The only negative is the need to retune the free view TVs as channels are limited and I did tell the maintenance guy last time I stayed here. Overall the staff were really very good!

Arrived early evening and greeted by Megan on the reception. Excellent customer service from the start. Explaining that I was staying overnight ahead of my wedding day and meeting with my sons who were also staying. Megan ensured that on arrival they were aware of where we could meet up. Room typical of the good value clean well presented accommodation of the chain. Decent restaurant across the way.

Avoid the restaurant - it has the atmosphere and service of a school dining hall. Waitress takes wrong order, but clearly didn’t want to reorder because kitchen was now closed. Manager was fussy chap at the beginning, but could be seen when there was a problem or leaving? Locals in the bar were foul mouthed therefore, not suitable for families. One local was more interested in pressing the barmaid to go for a kebab.

I stayed for 3 nights. The staff in both the hotel and restaurant are all very friendly. Yes the hotel is a little older and the decor needs a bit of an update, but the rooms and all areas were spotlessly clean and the bed was comfy. The area where the hotel is situated is nice and quiet but also very close (5 minute drive) to the motorway and main roads, so it's the best of both worlds. The car park is safe and secure. The restaurant next door served hot and tasty food but is very under staffed and despite this the service was excellent. Monday mornings breakfast only had one member of staff doing everything front of house so items were not replenished very quickly but that is to be expected when the poor girl was run ragged! PLEASE invest in some new toasters though as it takes forever to get toast that is barely beige :-)
