Hotels in Syntagma Square, Athens

The location is fantastic! The hotel is right around Syntagma Square, making it incredibly convenient for dining and shopping. The Acropolis is also within walking distance. The room was clean, tidy, and a good size, and the bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend!

The hotel's location is excellent, just about a 3-minute walk from the metro station. There are also many restaurants and food options nearby, which is very convenient. The overall environment was incredibly clean and satisfying. The room even had a small balcony overlooking the bustling street outside. A special shout-out to the delicious Greek yogurt served at breakfast! It's definitely worth going up to the rooftop terrace to enjoy breakfast with a view, and we were lucky enough to even glimpse the Acropolis! However, the soundproofing in the room was really poor. Perhaps it's because we stayed in a connecting room, but we could hear conversations and hair-drying from the adjacent room very clearly, which felt like a lack of privacy. Even the sound of luggage being wheeled down the hallway was very noticeable. Additionally, around 7 or 8 in the morning, when people were checking out, the cleaning staff started their work, and the vacuum cleaner noise was quite distinct. If you wanted to sleep in a bit later, you'd definitely be woken up.

There's a Hong Kong-style tea restaurant right across from the guesthouse, which is rare in Greece, and a bar. It's within walking distance of Syntagma Square, but the guesthouse has three keys to get in, which is a bit of a hassle.

The hotel is in a very good location, which is near the Syntagma Square and Plaka old town and is in walking distance to Athens Acropolis and other major attractions. The room is large and also let you feel very comfortable, equipped with microwave oven, refrigerator and coffee maker. More importantly, the hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming, who give detailed instructions and support promptly at all times. In fact, we have been staying at the same hotel after the first stay.

Absolutely fantastic! The breakfast was amazing, especially the super sweet fruit – the kiwi and mango were already peeled, which was a nice touch. The desserts were delicious too. The bathroom counter was huge, perfect for women. My room had a small desk right by the window, from which I could watch the changing of the guard at Syntagma Square. I stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed sitting there and reading. Being so close to Syntagma Square, the X95 airport bus stop is just a 2-3 minute walk away, about 200 meters. The path is flat with no inclines or declines, making it easy to manage with luggage. All the major attractions are within walking distance. Across the street is the National Garden, and there's a metro station nearby – incredibly convenient! The rooftop cafe and balcony offer stunning views of the Acropolis, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the Parliament building. I even spent New Year's Eve on the rooftop watching the fireworks. I highly recommend this hotel!

The location is great and convenient. The room is clean and comfortable. However, since I stayed with a friend, we used a foldable extra bed, but there were no sheets and the blanket had a big stain on it. Also, we didn't receive any information on how to check in until just before we arrived, so I was worried about whether we would be able to check in without any problems after spending a whole day traveling from Japan. I also had a hard time getting used to the Greek style lock. I've written a lot, but overall I'm very satisfied. Everything is within walking distance, and there are a lot of people around until late at night, so it's lively and safe.

The hotel per se was OK... but the service staff was lacking. We arrived early and was told we could not check in - something which I of course accept. Reception promised to e-mail me once a room becomes available. The e-mail never came. When I returned at the designated check-in time, I asked her why she did not send me any email. She came up with a crappy excuse like ”I tried to call you”... which I do not believe as I had specifically told her I have an international number and please WhatsApp me, to which she said she will e-mail me instead. We went up to the rooftop bar in the late afternoon to check it out. We asked the bartender what time they are opened until as we had planned to return that evening for a view of the Acropolis by night. He told us the time (I cannot remember the specifics now but it was late). He made no mention about the bar being closed for a private event that night. Imagine our disappointment when we went up later and realised it was closed. To add insult to injury, he was very rude to us.

Highly recommended! It's very clean and cozy, and surprisingly affordable. I didn't have high expectations, but it definitely exceeded them. I'm not a shill, just a happy customer! Just a heads-up, you'll need to bring your own toiletries as they don't provide disposables. The bedding was comfortable and very clean; I actually spilled water on the floor during my stay and when I wiped it up, I noticed how pristine it was, even the paper was white (which is rare!). Definitely recommend for Chinese travelers.

Highly recommend Pan Hotel for the central location and service. Easy walking distance to most iconic sights in Athens. The buffet breakfast served by the hard working lovely lady Eliza was amazing. Eliza looked after us each morning during our stay, she is such a nice lady. What a great experience for me and my family. The staff at the front desk looked after our luggage securely while we waited for the check-in time and while we walked around town for the day after checking out.
