I visited Polignano a Mare in April of 2023. The Hotel Covo Dei Saraceni was a great choice for my visit. The staff was professional, and communicative. The hotel was clean, and comfortab le. The bed was comfortable. I had a very nice view. I was on a bicycle trip, and was able to secure my bicycle in their garage overnight. The breakfast was fabulous. They offered a wide buffet selection of pastries, fruits, jusices; all of the things you get in a nice hotel. The breakfast room has a wonderful outlook. I had a good internet connection.

saving grace of a holiday ruined by bad weather. Whilst one might expect to use the aircon in the South of Italy in late May, the heating was needed, and worked a treat. Rooms were kept extremely clean, even under the bed - I dropped something and had to go under, scrupulously clean. As was the entire hotel. beds were very comfortable (and I do like/need a hard bed) for my back, but all went very well. The pool and area looked lovely but far too cold to think about using it. The grounds are kept very well too. Breakfast was the usual italian display of cakes, but they also catered for the UK contingent with some bacon and scrambled eggs, and the normal platters of cold meats and some cheeses for other european nations. We also had half board, and had a 3 course meal every night which was always delicious., and never cold. we also got receipts for our bar bills, so very easy to add up what we had to pay at the end of the holiday. the hotel is in a lovely small village, but if not in a tour group, you will need a car to get around anywhere. There seems to be a very good restaurant next door, but it hadn't opened for the season when we were there.

I really enjoyed our stay here. We hired a trullo with some friends but arrived a few days early, so we needed a hotel for a couple of nights. Cala ponte was not overly expensive and allowed us to book for two nights (many required a longer stay given it was high season). We arrived late in the evening just after the kitchen closed, but the very kind and helpful staff got us fed (we hadn’t eaten since the morning). Our room was spacious and clean and new with a great shower and comfortable (for me anyway - I prefer a firm mattress) bed. We spent the next morning exploring Polignano a mare and the afternoon at the amazing pool - really beautiful, not crowded. We left the day after and the staff let us hang out at the pool even after check out. Really great stay and lovely staff especially the manager of the restaurant and his team - thank you!

The structure is close to the entrance of the Grottes, in addition to this positive has that the rooms are clean, the new rubber and the hot water immediately, and the position of course central for any excursion. What I didn't like was to have received a room which, though with a double bed, was more suitable for a single person: only a window (in contrast to the triple booking with balcony), There was no power take at one of the comforts (i.e., minimal sunshine), very small support spaces, in the bathroom only a glass box, in the shower box, there was hardly a spin, no support for the shower shampoo, The rooms were so much sought in the evening, without a picture or a picture of the wall. Personnel without a division and without a minimum of enthusiasm. After two bookings the same room, who would know the central body with the balconies how will it be! ?
