Tivoli Alvor

3 1/2 out of 5. We’ve just returned from a family break and firstly we did have a lovely time. Food and drink are good, especially in the bookable restaurants. It was all warm/hot with lots to choose from. If you are a beige food eater you will eat the same food every day. If not there’s lots of choice and themes even in the buffet. Cocktails are individually made and taste good. You can also get resort credit to eat at a local restaurant one night of your stay, again ask as this wasn’t promoted on check in. The train into Alvor is very handy as is the short walk over the bridge to a beautiful beach. We also made use of the free pass to zoomarine so make sure you ask about this on check in if you stay longer than a week. We got Ubers there and back with a total of €45 which felt reasonable. The facilities are great. Lots of pools, sports activities and wellness centre. Staff are really friendly and helpful. We are enjoyed chatting with Habib in the Roastic restaurant. What could be better - the pools state they are heated to 26 degrees and this is the main reason we booked this hotel. They are not consistently heated and therefore get cold quickly. This was really disappointing and our little girl could only manage 20 minutes in the pool at a time. Almost like boiling a kettle in the morning and expecting it to be hot in the evening. The booking system for a la carte restaurants also needs to be looked at. Queuing for 45 minutes to be offered limited availability is not what I’d expect from a 5 star hotel. I’d image this along with the bar queues are much longer in school holidays.

Just leaving this beautiful hotel, rooms very comfortable and spacious. We had ground floor room which had a lovely garden with sun loungers. Buffet restaurant had plenty of choice just wish food could have been a bit warmer. Italian and Grill restaurants both very good. 5 minute train ride to Alvor which picks you up at hotel runs every hour. Beautiful fishing village just visits were ruined by the rain. My son who is 11 was a bit bored think they could do more activities around the pool maybe they do in the summer months. Not sure! Overall lovely place

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Italian restaurant is the best food. Filipe served us and was exceptional. Thankyou for a great experience! Comfy, clean hotel rooms and great pools. Family of 8 adults and 4 kids and all enjoyed our holiday here :).

Visited Tivoli as a couple, had everything we could want. Everything we could want for a relaxing holiday. Essence restaurant where we mostly eat, was well labelled for allergens. This was helpful with a gluten allergy. There is a train into Alvor which is very useful that comes back and forth free of charge. Enjoyed the entertainment, circus based troupe who were fun. Good range of drinks, but your spirits you need to upgrade to premium. Plenty of sun-beds and pools with drinks service around them. Staff all very friendly and happy to help. Our room was very nice and all we needed for a week. Wifi was good/strong around the resort. This was a perfect getaway and much needed sun after a wet winter. We would certainly come again and would recommend to anyone.

This is our second time at the resort and, as expected it did not disappoint! Spotless, helpful staff, great food, beautiful clean rooms, activities & splash pad for the kids, beautiful pools, lovely adult only area. In fact it was better this time : a play park has been built for the kids, more drinks available on the standard all inclusive package , shuttle has had an upgrade & bbq on all day outside the salty bar. There are staff everywhere! Cleaning, serving talking to guests. We had some exceptional service in the restaurants Beatrice Quintos in the Roastic restaurant in particular . She was very friendly & helpful; made suggestions on things the kids might like, made jokes with us & made sure we were well hydrated 🤣. Philippe also in the carosello restaurant was very attentive & helpful, made our meals a lovely experience. Food in both restaurants was exceptional. The buffet restaurant was also very good ( which in my opinion is hard to do ) . In all we had a great time! If you want a family holiday with stuff for everyone, but still quite chilled vibes this is the place for you!

Being at Tivoli Alvor was wonderful. You can see wonderful sunsets. The food in the restaurants was really tasty. Inside the hotel I discovered a place from another world, the Wellness Centre the, receptionist Claudia was lovely, she showed me the facilities and told me about the free yoga, I had a class with Tania and it was an amazing experience, she knows what she is doing, she is an excellent yoga teacher. I also enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi, I had a real moment of peace and tranquility 🧘🏻‍♀️

Just back from great holiday at Tivoli Alvor. As we arrived at hotel we were greeted by amazing porters/reception staff who took our cases and gave us drinks to welcome us. We checked in and although rooms weren’t ready (only 10am) our cases were put on secure luggage room and we could go use all the facilities straight away. We received a text when the room was ready so we could then go and unpack. The rooms are layed out in 11 two storey blocks around the complex. We were in block 4 which was great for us as it was right by both the adult pool and Essenze buffet restaurant. The room was spacious. Large area with king size bed, dressing table, sofa and table. Good wardrobe space and drawers but only 8 hangers. Fridge had water in ready for us. Safe is easy to use. The TV has information about the hotel, its restaurants, spa etc as well as a number of English speaking TV channels. We had read reviews about the food being cold in the buffet restaurant, we didn’t experience this at all. We enjoyed a good choice of food, especially if you like fish with lots of wonderful fresh fish over the week including John Dory, sea bream and cod. We ate in the Roastic a la carte one night and had a very tasty chateaubriand steak. We also chose to eat in Carosello, the Italian restaurant on two occasions and again couldn’t fault the food or the service. We only used the adult only pool and have to say it was very relaxing. The whole area was clean and obviously well looked after. The staff were great, whether it be giving you towels or fetching drinks and always with a smile and a way that made you feel welcome. The family pools looked amazing too, 3 tiered next to each other, again kept immaculately. The restaurant and bar staff were also excellent, helpful and extremely friendly. The whole place was kept to a very high standard whether it be the cleanliness of rooms, bars, restaurants or pools or the facilities and staff. The only thing that stopped me giving this 5 stars was the entertainment for adults. We found this to be the one area that needs improvement. The karaoke was dominated by children and I wouldn’t expect this to be the main entertainment for an evening but more after the main event. We found the magic act quite poor and other entertainment not up to the standard we had hoped. This wouldn’t however put us off going again as we instead sat in ‘Salty’ bar having drinks and enjoying good conversation with others. Great hotel, brilliant staff will definitely be returning to Alvor

I really enjoyed my stay in the Tivoli Alvor. Great place with a lot of nature around and very close to the beach. It was such a pleasure to have a free Yoga Classe outside at the wellness centre with Carlos, he is a wonderful teacher and was the perfect moment just to enjoy myself ☺️
