Hotel do Cerro

Really enjoyed our stay. Very helpful friendly staff, especially Claudia on reception. All the staff speak good English. Lovely large room, kept very clean, cleaned daily. Towels changed every other day. Shower over the bath very good. Large balcony overlooking the pool and the sea. It was great that we could hire a kettle, cups and spoons for 2 euros/day. Good to have 2 room keys if you need to charge electronics whilst you're out as once the key card is removed from the wall the electricity disconnects. Good to bring a small washing line to hang stuff up to dry on the balcony. Breakfast was good but a little monotonous. I chose to provide my own gluten free bread to be toasted but gf bread was available for a small cost. The pastries and bread buns looked lovely. My partner enjoyed eating mine!! Food in the evenings was OK, nothing special but not bad either. The omelette and chips with a salad for 10 euros was very good value and very tasty. The outdoor pool area was really lovely to spend time in but the pool was very cold! The indoor pool was lovely and warm. It was a shame that the pools could not be used before breakfast or in the evenings. Good hotel for adults. Not much to do for teens and kids. Snooker table available. Live music was available a couple of times a week but was a bit naff. There's a road train that stops near the hotel regularly and you can hire a car from the hotel and book tours too. Very hilly town, so you need to have good mobility to get around the area. Cobbled pavements /roads. Taxis are cheap.

What I loved about this hotel is that it’s not like your usual large holiday resort. It’s quaint, cosy and quirky. In a great location for beach and old town of Albuferia. Yes as other reviews say, there is an incline as the area in general is hilly however I don’t feel it’s a dramatic incline. About 5-10 min walk to beach and town. No buffet style meal service, you pick your own out of a choice of 2 starters and 4 mains and they give you a choice of desert. You order meals in advance at breakfast or reception. For breakfast you have a choice of small cooked items with breads, yogurt, fruit and cereal. Again, not buffet and you order when you arrive. The pool area is very small and not ideal for lying around the pool lovers. My partner and I were out exploring so wasn’t a problem for us. We used beach for any sun bathing. Pool is also chilly (not as cold as the sea though!) not ideal for children either as there’s not much to do / entertainment around the pool area. Rooms are Fine, air con is great and works well! Shower is powerful. TV is only one English channel so bring your iPads/tablets/phones as there’s free WiFi!

Hotel de cerro is simply outstanding for a relaxing sunshine break. Rooms are super clean and maids are available daily although we didn't feel the need every day, the beds are extremely comfy and air con keeps rooms at the perfect temperature with its handy remote control. The reception and bar staff are so helpful and friendly they made us feel nothing is too much trouble, early check out on the last day and we had a packed breakfast ready for us 😀 The restaurant food is perfect,4 choices every day for main and a select of desserts we went half board and had zero issues. The main restaurant man was amazing and we can't thank him enough for the hospitality and food, the servers soon got to know us and were so friendly! Everything is nearby 5 min yo supermarket and a short walk to the beach and old town. We discovered the tourist train which was hop on hop off for 7 euro a day, we explored easily and cheaply. Thank you!! We will be back!!

We chose this hotel as it looked quirky and a little old fashioned , and it was perfect from the off! Perfectly situated for what my husband and i want in a holiday. Its just 10 minutes away from the beach and old town, bit steap walking back but you could easily get a taxi if needed. Staff are fantastic! So helpful and friendly, that makes your hoilday. Rooms are immaculate. Breakfast is served to your table through order service, which is great, no waste and you can order as much as you want. We stayed at room 104 from 9th - 13th May, side sea view, which was perfect for us. Peaceful at night, apart from someone in room above walking around in heels at 2am, obviously not a fault of the hotel, just someone being inconsiderate i guess. We will be returning to this hotel for sure and cant wait. A big thank you to the staff that are naturally kind & helpful 😊 Sam & Gareth

Very clean quiet hotel, staff are brilliant, room service is all you would want, breakfast is served to your table after you have ordered, it’s much better than queueing up for cold food and last nights leftovers, we were half board and again it’s served to your table, you order at breakfast time, choice is a little limited but food is warm and tasty, service is top class, the hotel is quite strict on attire inside, that’s ok, BUT not being able to enter pool area until 10am is not on, you can’t reserve beds again that’s ok, in fact it’s great, stops people putting towels out and arriving after lunch, we like to get up early, have breakfast, and catch all the sun possible, they say it’s for cleaning, it’s a small pool area and they have it done most mornings by 8 30, all in all a grand small hotel

Great hotel , lovely peaceful location, had a fantastic sea view,staff were really friendly and helpful, the breakfast was more than adequate. Pool area and hotel were spotless. Will definitely stay here again.location was at the top of a hill which would be a problem for some but I found it no problem.

Another great stay. This is a lovely hotel, clean and beautifully styled. We had a lovely room and the breakfast was great. The staff can't be faulted, they are all so friendly and helpful. Claudia was especially so. We loved our stay here. It's a gem and we would stay here again when in Albufeira.

The most pristine hotel we have ever stayed in. Friendly staff, a lovely room, comfy bed and pretty good food. Both breakfast and evening meal have to be pre selected but there is a very good choice including vegetarian options. The hotel really is close to the Old Town and there are fairly easy ways to reach it within about 10 minutes. Sadly, we didn’t like the Old Town, far too crowded and definitely on the ‘tacky’ side. Would highly recommend the hotel but not Albufeira.

Greeted on arrival by lovely lady on reception, went through the details re breakfast etc with us . All the staff were very efficient and friendly. Really enjoyed our stay, had room overlooking the pool on the 3rd floor, very quiet corridor. Room/bathroom exceptionally clean, good shower, plenty of hot water. Towels changed every 2 days, but do they need to be as currently a water shortage, one change would have been fine. Beds comfortable and made up daily. Took our own kettle etc as aware not supplied in the room. Entertainment in the bar 3 nights a week, only called in for a drink on the way back from town, easy listening music, not our thing really but the musicians were good. Bar Staff friendly too. Outside terrace bar not opened on our stay but looked lovely. Hotel took some navigating round until we got used to it, not all stairs and lifts go to all floors, so had some fun finding our room for the first 2 days! Breakfast was ample! Automatically served with continental breakfast, lovely fresh bread and pastries, ham, cheese,jams etc. We didn't realise that the first day and ordered toast too!! Tick order for cooked items, juice, drinks and fresh fruit, yogurts etc. Fresh fruit varied each day, had melon, orange, pineapple, all served very quickly by lovely friendly staff. Had to queue a couple of times, but only for 5 mins and learned to avoid the popular times! -Last 30 mins of service! Can ask for more of anything, no problem. Booked a couple of trips through reception, as prices at the time of our stay were same as/cheaper than in town. Also one had early start ,so they opened breakfast early for us for the continental breakfast and coffee etc. (no cooked items) . Which we appreciated. Had the option of packed breakfast on the day we left as early flight, but we didn't take that up. Yes it's up a hill, but the view is lovely and only 10/15 mins walk from the beach. Have already recommended to friends. Lovely enjoyable holiday. Thanks to all the staff.
