|2.39km from downtownThis is a lovely warm hotel. We arrived late due to rail strikes, which made transport to the hotel a pain. However, once we were checked in, we were straight up the the room which was toasty (really toasty!). Breakfast was a continental buffet style with plenty of everything and some of the items changed on a daily basis. The hotel bar was open on Saturday and Sunday, where their barman, Boris was extremely friendly, warm, polite and helpful. He also takes a keen interest in football. I would also like to give Filip and his team at reception a shout out as they were extremely helpful. For those who read the reviews saying they could not speak either English or German, we found this to be simply not true. Their English was fluent as was their German. We had wanted to come back out to Munich specifically to stay here again this year but unfortunately that will now have to wait until next year. If you want the u-bahn, it is a 2 minute walk from the hotel reception (turn left from the door, left again, cross at the lights and you are there).

|0.85km from downtownFor a tourist, the best place to live in Munich is Old Town. This hotel is located in an ugly building. Also, the lobby is quite modest. The breakfast room is stylish. The breakfast was very pleasant with a good selection of food. We were lucky that our room was ready on arrival at 11:15. We had booked a comfort room that is the second-best category after the only suite on the 7th floor. Our room was located on the 5th floor. The views were not great. There was a building opposite the narrow street. Our room was quite spacious with a separate bedroom and living room. However, the living room was very sp****ly furnished, with just two small chairs and a table. There would have been room for a sofa. The bathroom was small but quite functional. On our last day, there was a strange incident. Our room had been cleaned while we were enjoying breakfast. We had left all our stuff on the bed in the order to quickly pack when we returned from breakfast. However, the bed had been made (probably with the sheets we had used). Hopefully, the room was recleaned after our departure. Because of the location, the value was somewhat better for the paid 236 euros per night than in our first hotel, Cocoon Hauptbahnhof. A small minibar replenished daily was included in the price.

|1.98km from downtownBreakfast is included, and the breakfast is rich and good. There is a small cooking table on the side of the entrance. Although the sparrow is small and complete, it has pots, pans and dishwashers. The parking lot is the one with the big hertz written on it. The hotel sign is relatively small and I didn't see it. It was only found on the day of picking up the car. We parked by mistake and parked in the parking lot of the next motel 1, but when motel 1 paid the parking fee, the enthusiastic brother at the front desk said it was okay. He paid the parking fee and gave the ticket. The parking fee is much cheaper than the designated parking lot of the hotel. Piece

|5.93km from downtown10 mins walk to the nearest station. There are very little restaurants/supermarket around the hotel, literally just Mac’Donald you can eat.
There was no pot for boiling water in room, you need to get it by asking the reception.
Anyway, the room was big, clean and decorated well. It should be better if you are travelling with your own car for choosing this hotel.

|1.43km from downtownFirst, this hotel is not a Marriott, Hilton or Hyatt. It is a ”boutique” hotel that has great rooms, great bedding, nice finishes, and easy in / out. It is about a 8 minute walk from the city center. It is also close to a number of tech companies within 5 minutes walk. Loved this hotel and the daily service and look forward to staying again!

|1.02km from downtownIt is a very simple and ordinary small hotel with small rooms and small beds and toilets, but it is very clean and the transportation is convenient. The price is very good in Munich. The attitude of the front desk is very good, because there are rooms available, the front desk let us check in early. The room is not equipped with a kettle and disposable toiletries, as most European hotels do, you can bring your own if you need it.

|2.7km from downtownThe room was well furnished, clean and large. The bathroom was very modernly furnished and also clean. Nights we could sleep well = it was no noise from inside (in the hotel) or outside. The breakfast was very rich and the staff was very premature; all wishes were met immediately. The staff at the reception was also friendly. The only criticism point is the funny big basket that stood in our room = there I ran more often in the dark at night. I don't know why he stands there (see picture) = because he is not beautiful and he does not fulfill a special purpose. I could well renounce it!

|4.01km from downtownEverything was excellent. Few steps from S-bahn and U-bahn stations, 1 minute :) 4 stops to Marienplatz (city centre) with u-bahn. 4 stops to central train station with s-bahn. Only 15 minutes. Breakfast was excellent. You can find Mediterranean breakfast; olive, tomatoes, lettuce, fried eggs. There are many more alternatives. Because of its location and excellent breakfast, I would stay there if I go to Munich again. But there isn’t mini bar. I prefer cold water even if it’s snowing.

Munich
|2.19km from downtownThe hotel is located 2 minutes from U-Bahn station Theresienwiese, very close to Oktoberfest venue, and 20 minutes easily on foot to Marienplatz. For the price we paid you will not find a better one in the central area of Munich. The room was ready before noon when we arrived. While reading other guests' comments, I wonder if we stayed at the same hotel? Some of the guests complained that they were freezing, sleeping with their coats over blankets – however it was quite the opposite! Because of these comments I took my warmest pyjamas with me that I did not wear at all, as it was very warm in the room (we stayed 5 nights in December). The radiators can be adjusted manually as you please, from cold to super warm! Some other said they had only one towel per person, we had two and one for the floor, and they were changed whenever we threw them on the shower floor. Room was cleaned daily, and it was quite large, with nice seating area, perfectly quiet (our room was facing the yard, 3rd floor), with comfy beds, super Wi-Fi (very strong signal). It is not luxurious, but nothing was lacking in the room (even the hairdryer was there, obviously other complaining guests could not find it, as it was in the desk drawer). Breakfast was standard and decent, the only minus for us was the lack of scrambled eggs. Staff was very nice and helpful and I would recommend this place without hesitation!

|8.46km from downtownThe hotel was cozing and had good accomodations. Although not too modern, the room was equipped with everything we needed and had great acoustics. Parking in the surroundings was not very easy depending on the moment of the day. Breakfast was nice, with variety of food and typically German food included. The staff was nice but not very welcoming. The neighborhood was not very near to the city center, but that worked out really good for us, since we got to experience the local life.

|6.63km from downtownI'm really conflicted about this hotel, in some ways it's a great hotel and in others not so much. I'll start with check in, I booked a ”Queen bed” which to me means bigger than double especially as there is an option for just a double. so had to pay to upgrade to a ”executive room” which had the bigger bed, so another €60 on to our bill, but was discounted from €90. room was big, bed was very big and very comfortable. had to ask for a kettle (had a coffee machine but no kettle) had a minibar so a fridge which the first room didn't have even tho website says a minibar. all rooms have balconies but no furniture out there so I had to ask for chairs, also dont think the balconies have been cleaned in a while, i left foot prints in the dust. bathroom was old and needs refurbishment, shower pressure is rubbish, water drains very slowly and bath has all gone rusty. our first room was right next to the second room and overlooked some car park but then right next to it is a factory and then behind that some excavation work is taking place, the 1st night all was quiet as it was Easter but the second night from 3.30am lorries with there reversing noises where going on and that night the factory noise went on till almost 10pm. this is not the hotels fault- but if booking a room I would ask for a different location for room. breakfast was beautiful, everything u would want, all presented lovely and u could have omlette made to order. we used the resturant the 1st night, the food was very nice but very expensive- but we later found out this is how Germany is. Husband used the gym- mini gym as they call it and it is mini but it kept him happy for an hour. pool is a added bonus but pictures make it look bigger than it is, Sadly it was far too cold for me to get in and the steam/sauna are only turned on at certain times and we missed the time slot but they both looked good sizes. all the staff we came across, from reception, to restaurant and breakfast staff and especially the cleaners were lovely, very polite and helpful if u have any questions or requests. we would stay here again if it was the original price for the larger bed and if we had a different room location.

|7.89km from downtownVery nice, large and quiet room, love for the detail lacked. At the time of a family member's clinical purchase, I was 4 nights guest at the Empress Hotel. The room was badly cleaned, but this was corrected immediately after my complaint. I was located in the back building, this had the advantage that it was really quiet here, but unfortunately the access path was very poorly illuminated in the evening and not sufficiently widespread or freed from snow. The TV could not be switched off via the remote control, I had to pull the plug, the window which was kicked, I could not close, because here the safety bottles were pressed to protect the intruder and the heft therefore I couldn't use the safe because it didn't work. I also informed the hotel manager, but the shortcomings were not removed during my stay. The Wi-Fi was a single disaster, I used a lot of data volumes because I didn't notice at first that I had to constantly re-select. In the evening, nobody was to reach, I found something scaring. The breakfast buffet was OK, but my musli had to eat from a plastic bowl that I found strange. Dry flowers at the reception are not bad, but have left the impression that I could see everywhere that love is missing in detail.

Munich
|6.81km from downtownBooked for a trade fair visit at the Hotel Mercure. 2 nights in a double room with FS for almost 150 euros was a very good price!
We arrived from Austria around noon on Friday. There was parking just around the corner. The lady at the reception and her trainee tried very hard, but despite the booking confirmation including the right number, it took a good 10 minutes until we got our room cards. Top (3rd) floor, penultimate room. No problem, we want to complete 6000 steps every day!
On the ground floor there is a bistro machine, cosmetics, souvenirs, information displays, etc.
There are 2 elevators - only 1 is running. No idea why. The question becomes striking when waiting 10 minutes to go to the 3rd floor.
It was very cold in the corridor. This is currently the case everywhere and is probably due to the idea of saving energy, but it is very unpleasant.
Nice room, with a wardrobe including coat hooks (also not in every hotel anymore!), safe (become rare), a shower with a glass partition, hair dryer, magnifying mirror, facial tissues, soap, shower gel and shampoo dispensers. The bathroom was so small that when you sat on the toilet you couldn't open the door, but is that what you want??
Desk, armchair, flat screen TV, window that can be opened, a comfortable bed (not very wide) with good bedding. Kettle with coffee and tea facilities.
Everything clean, but not completely clean. Dust bunnies behind the armchair on the lamp stand (seen by accident because I had dropped something).
Very quiet, unless the other guests tramp loudly bawling down the aisle.
Went away again in the evening and didn't come back until after midnight, but still easily got a parking space.
Slept very well!
Breakfast: Very nice area, tables set cleanly, coffee machine for different types, different types of tea, juices, water, cold UHT milk, large glasses and cups available!, rolls, grain rolls, croissants, sweet pastries, raisin bread, pretzels; jams, honey and Nutella; butter and cream cheese; Cereals, sausage, cheese, white sausage, small sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon, 7 min. eggs, pancakes, vegetables, yoghurt, fruit, fruit salad.
My husband drinks cocoa for breakfast. It's always a problem in hotels just to get warm milk. The one from the machine doesn't taste good. When asked if we could get warm milk, they said the machine was broken - the stove? He then drank cold milk, but wasn't happy.
Salt and pepper mills on the tables, as well as sugar and sweetener.
Empties were deposited very promptly. Unfortunately there is nothing for the garbage on the tables.
On Saturday it was really ok. The quality is sosolala. The sliced cheese tasted chemically. The pig was cut about 3mm thick. Personally, I don't need salami for breakfast. The water tasted treated, but we come from the foot of the Schneeberg in Austria and our water tastes fresh and natural - we're spoiled!
The Nutella was full of little white balls. I've had that before in a glass, it's probably secreted fat. It tasted totally ok, but it has no place on a buffet. You can use that for Nutella Palats*****s, or for the workforce.
Fruit selection was very nice, apples, bananas, sliced kiwis and passion fruit, sliced oranges, canned tangerines, fruit salad with apples and melons.
On Sunday it was different:
You could have smashed slices with the pretzel rolls. The pancakes were partly ”crispy”, but the bacon was soggy. The scrambled eggs were brought later, but it was totally slimy. Unfortunately, there were no pretzels with the white sausages. Everything can go out, but in times like these when you can have everything frozen, it's not necessary.
What can children and my husband drink? Unfortunately, warm cocoa made from milk is not! It's a shame - that and the loss of quality on Sunday.

|1.02km from downtownThe location is very good, very close to the Deutsches Museum, passing through a green belt and a very beautiful river. And even walking to Munich city centre and Marianne Square is 20-30 minutes. And the separation of a river makes the hotel very quiet. And next to the hotel is an Audi 4S shop, you can go in and see the price of Audi in Germany, haha But I have to say that the conditions inside the room are really average. I am giving the room type with a loft inside the top floor. The bedroom was very small, and I could only put down a bed. I was very happy to see that the bedroom was pushed out and there was a large terrace. But then I found that the terrace was completely connected to the next door, which was not in line with the Chinese people’s habits. It also makes people feel unsafe. The air conditioning in the room is almost equal to the display, plus a few days just arrived in Munich, the sun is shining, it is very hot. So it is difficult to sleep at night. I don't know if it is only the top floor room type. This is an apartment-style hotel with a kitchen in the room. If you want to cook for yourself, it is very convenient. I don't know what it is. In the few days we stayed, we saw that almost half of the tourists in the hotel were Indians. The room area was full of curry.

|3.78km from downtownThe breakfast area is small, but very elegant, close to the street on the first floor. It costs about 18 yuan per person. If you need to buy, it is more cost-effective to buy when you book the room. There is also a cafe next to the hotel, and the price is similar. The theme of the hotel is a picture of beautiful women in classical oil paintings. Each door is a picture of beautiful women in famous paintings. |5.52km from downtownThe hotel is a fair way out of the city centre, however there is a tram located close by. There are a couple of shops and cafes within a 10-15 minute walk, other than this, there is not much close by. The hotel looks nice online, however the rooms are extremely dissapointing. The bed is massive, and yet the duvet and pillows look as if they belong on a single. The room itself was quite scruffy, with marks all over the walls, mould in the shower and an general odd odour. The toilet is seperate from the shower room, which is useful, however the door for both the shower room and toilet is shared. The toilet flusher kept getting jammed, resulting in constant running of water, this was fixed by trying to pull the flusher back level with the wall. The walls to the shower room, and the shared door are both made of glass, meaning that in the middle of the night the other person in the room is woken by the light coming from these rooms. The curtains do not fit the windown frame and are not blackout. Alot of light comes through both the curtain and round the sides. Online it states the room is soundproofed, this is not the case. The room was noisy and we could hear people outside and in the corridors. The bathroom includes a built in hair dryer, whcih looked like it was made in 1970. There were not enough plugs in the room and the mini fridge was not cold enough. There is a safe, which comes in handy for passports etc. The room also has a basic coffee machine, but we were only given two pods, after they were used, there was no more coffee in the room. We chose not to have breakfast as it was overpriced, especially when a short tram ride takes you to the centre of Munich, where lots of cafes offer much cheaper breakfast. The one positive about this hotel is the WIFI, its pretty good. We would not return.

|1.65km from downtownSo my review is a mixed one, partly positive but deeply dampened by two factors: Firstly, Wombat’s has come to be known as one of if not the party hostel in Munich. That being said - there was no party/pub crawl! (Barring the first night of my stay). This was disappointing, but this was mitigated by the absolutely amazing hosts and guests that I encountered during my stay. I’ll add here that my room was spacious, had a comfy bed and had a great safety system in place for valuables. Now for the second bad bit and this is something I didn’t bring up with them directly as I didn’t want to cause the person I would speak to any distress, but this hostel clearly caters to racists. Above my shower room door (Room 304), there were racial slurs for a number of races and I found it disgusting. How are Black people, white people and Asians supposed to feel comfortable when this what they see in the bathroom? This has to be addressed swiftly or Wombat’s will suffer in the long run.

|2.04km from downtownThere is nothing particularly special about this hotel; it has a very high standard of being normal. Everything is clean, the breakfast buffet is fine, the bed is comfortable, and the staff is friendly and professional. Only 4-out-of-5 points because the rooms are a bit small (but that is normal for European hotels, I guess), and it is on a busy street. Still, I would definitely come here again.
