The interior decor is about on par with a youth hostel in China, featuring old, simple wooden furniture. The tables and shelves are very narrow, so my belongings kept falling off every day 😂.
Initially, I was given a ground-floor room, and the smell was truly something else. When I asked to change rooms, I was told they were fully booked. I finally got to move to an upstairs room on the second day.
Just as others have mentioned, the bedsheets and duvet covers had all sorts of stains. The housekeeping girl, however, was very sweet. She brought three bedsheets until we found one that looked a bit cleaner. She said they send them to a specialized company for washing, so I guess the cleanliness of bedsheets across the entire island is probably similar.
This 'hotel' and the Green Cherry restaurant upstairs are run by the same people. It was also the only restaurant on the island where I spent money and didn't feel full – it was genuinely expensive and unappetizing.
If it hadn't been a non-cancellable booking, I really would have wanted to switch to another place to stay... 😌
