It was great staying in this hostel. Everyone who is working here was so polite and nice, always helping us ☺️ the position is good, near subway station. Everyday the towels were changed and the room was cleaned, we had the water bottles . I do recommend it and we will come back again. ☺️ Thank you 🙏

I stayed in this hostel for 4 weeks. I enjoyed it a lot. I didn't think that I could live in a hostel for almost a month. Incredible. The location of the hostel is my dream location, in the middle of the hutongs. There are 2 kinds of dorms: with private toilets and with public toilets. Mine was the one with public toilets (inside the hostel, shared with people from the other dorms). What is really missing in this hostel are LOCKERS for putting your valuable.

Great location, more than amazing staff and really nice experience overall. The map they give you is superb, and breakfast is also very good. My only con was the fact our room had stairs which I did not realise from the photos, but besides this - The Orchid really made our stay in Beijing feel super special. Thank you!

On my last day at Peking Youth International Hostel, I left my luggage at the reception after checkout and picked it up in the evening—super convenient! I want to give a big thank you to the lovely room cleaner sister again. My friends accidentally dirtied the bedsheet, but she kindly cleaned it without any extra charge. Her helpfulness and kindness really stood out. I’ll definitely stay here again if I visit Beijing in the future!
Zhihexing Youth Hostel (Chaoyang High-speed Railway Station Shilibao Subway Station)

The hostel is super. It is hard to find because no directions are given but it is on the third floor in the building marked on the map. The receptionists are very nice and super patient and helpful. They helped me figure out what new years eve activities were on and they also helped me verify my WeChat account. It was super very nice to talk to them :) Thank you Potato and Tomato!
Anna Xiangxiang Hotel (Beijing Jinsong Metro Station)

I booked online this hotel through Trip.com. At that time, I had the goal since I was in the budget situation from the UNEXPECTED. (if you are curious about my Unexpected, it was the declination boarding from the local airline at Beijing Capital Airport. The airline did not trust on my travel doc is legally). I booked a bed for 2 weeks long range. And I need the temporary stable location in Beijing for me to go to US embassy. Thus, you should read Careful about the bed before click on the button. this hotel isn't common setting. It is similar to the apartment, the home-stay style more than one single unit private room. It is one bed inside one big room where I need to share with other 7 guys. Because of the unexpected. Because of my wallet situation. Plus, I am the Millennial gen. And I remember to bring the sleeping bag. -> to me, this hotel is not so bad. The owner takes the role of receptionist as well. We communicate by the translator. He does help me with the on-site laundry and other things.
Mutian Inn (Beijing Wudaokou subway station)
4.4/5308 Reviews
Shangdi and Zhonguancun Area
My cabin had boogers on the walls, which is just unacceptable. The whole place just didn’t satisfy my cleanliness criteria. The chairs of the common areas were stained, the walls were dirty, etc. The cabin is also on the smaller side. The room was packed when I was there, but the air circulation wasn’t good at all. Other guests have also been inconsiderate during my stay, being loud and smoking inside the bathroom. Shower didn’t drain properly so I was standing in a puddle while showering. Not to mention, there’s an unhealthy amount of mould on the ceiling. They do provide soap, shampoo and body wash though. The toilets are squat only. Location is not bad, it’s very close to Wudaokou Station and Summer Palace is around 30 minutes away. Other major attractions in the central area, such as Tiananmen Square, take around an hour with two transfers at least.
MILAIAN HOSTEL

Shangdi and Zhonguancun Area
The hostel is alright. It's a bit hard to find as the signs are a bit hard to spot. It's located next to an internet café which may explain the lingering strange smell within the rooms. I arrived late at night after everybody used the facilities and the cleaners didn't have time to go through. There were things like toolboxes in the washimg basins, hair clips in the showers. The top of the beds and showers were really dusty. The location is fine, the subway is not far. Service was very diligent. The other guests are very kind and friendly. It's a nice atmosphere among the guests. For the price, it's an alright stay in Beijing.

+) The staff was highly friendly and spoke good English, +) Cosy common room and rooftop +) Washing machine for 15 yuan +) Great Location, close to the forbidden city +) When I was there, there were kitten babies all over the place which made the experience just unique 😍 -) Only one shower and generally only one bathroom for everybody -) No towels included -) There were lockers in the room, but you didn't get a key for it. You can leave your valuable belongings at the reception, though. -) You don't get a key for your room so either you leave it open all the time or you ask every time at the reception to open it for you -) If you have a cat hair allergy, this might not be the right place for you
