My husband and I had ten days at this hotel from the 1st Oct 2024. We travelled with Tui. We are both slightly disabled and found the assistance that we had asked for to be poor at Norwich airport and dreadful at Mallorca port. However once we had arrived at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely tastefully decorated apartment that we were allotted. Our room included a lovely lounge with sofa and cushions & large TV, We had a dining room space with table and chairs for 4, a kitchenet with cupboards complete with all that we would need. We had a good sized bathroom with bath and shower. All was newly decorated and in perfect working order. We had an attractive bedroom, again with another large TV and a large balcony with both pool and sea views. Lovely blue sea, blue sky sunshine and waving palms. Guess what? this is a hotel where you wont need to get up at 4.00am to put your towels out! There are plenty of sunbeds and lots of parasols although many parasols are faulty and need repairing. The gardens are well tended. The domestic staff are super efficient. We always had extra loo rolls and our room was always clean. The staff at this hotel are great all smiling and helpful. There are many families at this hotel and you can tend to feel swamped by the amount of 'toddlers' running about there are also a lot of pushchairs everywhere. If you are not fond of children then this hotel is not for you. There were times when my husband had had enough of one or another kid kicking off with a tantrum. As an ex teacher I have a 'switch off' button in my head so I actually enjoyed the company of the little ones. The food was buffet style and very varied. Sometimes it was very good and sometimes it was just mediocre. However you could always find some thing to tempt yourself. Most evenings there was carvery of some sort. I must say that I enjoyed the theme nights specially the Chinese night and the puddings. The manageress of the restaurant, Pepa, is superbly efficient, she leads by example and really has her finger on the pulse. This hotel is a bit isolated but there is a shuttle bus for the nearest towns. There is not really a beach here just rocks but the hotel has some sandy play areas for children which my husband avoided. I had a super holiday here so thank you to the hotel management and to Tui.

The hotel was spot on, very nice and clean, comfy beds so slept well every night, free air con and pool view can't ask for much more really. Pool area was nice and clean, pool a bit dirty though and can't be cleaned often as all my swim wear and towels etc turned green after 1 day of been in there. The lady with glasses and blonde hair on reception was lovely, very helpful and kind. However, young male receptionist and woman with red braided hair, mainly saw her in the kitchen / eating area, extremely rude! Horrible woman who quite clearly was talking bad about me, I can't speak Spanish but it's very obvious when someone is talking about you. Disgusting, it's giving JEALOUS. Because she had absolutely no reason to be as awful as she was every time she saw me. I was with my child and my Nan, what could I of possibly been doing to be made that uncomfortable, talking about me and giving me awful looks. Get over yourself! The staff in the bar didn't wanna know you, polite because they had to be but didn't want to know. Apart from the bald guy who was lovely. There was also a man called ibrahim a waiter there, lovely man, was very good and kind with my daughter but it became a bit intense when he was asking my child to go to the shop with him, bringing 2-3 ice creams and drinks at a time constantly, picking her up and kissing her cheeks and then eventually started asking me to go out with him, bad intentions really. Overall it was a nice hotel and a lovely area, that woman is the reason why I wouldn't go back there, and ibrahim just tone it down a bit you'll find your English wife out there somewhere, but not me tho.

I paid extra for an upgrade to a Superior room with a sea view and was very pleased to be given room 206. The view was right over the small harbour and the surrounding restaurants. This area is a continuous hub of activity. We loved sitting on our balcony in the evening with a drink. The hotel itself is split into several blocks and some rooms have limited views or no view at all. I contacted the hotel via e mail prior to our stay and enquired about a room in the main block overlooking the marina. We also had a lovely walk-in shower and the towels were the best we have been given in all our travelling over the last 25 years! Large and fluffy towels changed every day. The meals were well cooked and there was lots of choices on offer for breakfast or dinner. We were impressed with the salmon and the roast beef dinners. At the pool area, there were plenty of sunbeds available but some were very uncomfortable as they sagged badly and were very low. Not ideal if you have mobility issues or suffer from a bad back. Pool towels are available at reception. You pat 27 euros for two and on returning them you only get 20 euros back! The meals in the snack bar at the pool were very good, although a bit pricey. One main meal will do two of you as the portions are large. The shows at night were very good but you had to be there early if you wanted a seat close to the show. The best night was the Take That tribute. If you want to go local for a beer or a meal, you don't need to go far. Across from the hotel on the corner is Smithy's. They do lovely meals and drinks with attentive service. A lot of guests are British and it is clear a lot of them return year after year. This was our first visit to Hotel Cala Bona and we will probably return. A couple of issues to consider is the cost of the Balearic tax and the long journey to and from Palma airport. The tax is nearly 50 euros for 2 for 1 week. The transfer will take 90 minutes.
