Uluwati Scenic Area, a valley blocking reservoir, is located at the upper reaches of the Kerakashi River in the south of Kunlun Mountain (l), Hotan County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and is within the Langru Township of Hotan County, 71 kilometers away from Hotan City. The reservoir water area is 11.3 square kilometers, the reservoir capacity is 3.47 billion cubic meters, and the altitude is 1900 meters. It has multiple benefits such as irrigation, flood control, power generation, fish farming, ecological protection and tourism. The Urowati Reservoir was built in August 1993, cut off the flow on September 2, 1997, stored water early in August 1998, and merged into the Hekou power grid when completed in 2001.
