Tower of YasakaYasaka Pagoda (aka Hokan-ji Temple) is one of the iconic structures in Kyoto. It is a five-story buddhist temple dating back to the 6th or 7th century. We visited in the evening when there are fewer tourists around, but still found lots of people at the best photo spots taking pictures with the pagoda. It is still worth wandering around the alleys nearby - there are small izakayas, sake bars, and coffee shops around to explore while getting different perspectives of this beautiful historical landmark. #timetotravel #japan #kyotopoohwubear11

Hokanji Temple the landmark of KyotoHokanji Temple (Yasaka Pagoda), along with Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, is one of the iconic landmarks located within Higashiyama district that is renowned for its well-preserved historical charming streetscape. It’s a very scenic pedestrian-only street where lots of tourists flock to for a photo opportunity. Tourists aside, it’s a very atmospheric street where you would enjoy strolling along the olden streets and enjoying its old world charm. The streets are lined with tonnes of interesting eateries, souvenir and gift shops that would keep you occupied for hours. We enjoyed it so much that we visited the destination a few times during our trip.
