Went to Badaling | Super detailed strategy guide
| Super detailed strategy guide.🧡Recommended reason:
As the saying goes, 'He who has not been to the Great Wall is not a true man.' One must climb the Great Wall at least once in life!!
Detailed address: Badaling Great Wall
🚌Transport strategy: It is recommended to take the high-speed train to Badaling Great Wall - Qinghe Station, which is quite convenient.
🛬【Itinerary】:
✅North and South sections of the Great Wall
My route was the northern section of the Great Wall, which has 12 segments, is quite steep, and has many tourists.
The southern section has 7 segments and is relatively gentle.
But since you're here, and everyone chooses to climb the northern section haha.
-
✅Where is the Hero's Stone located?🧐
The entrance on the north side is closed when you climb up! Staff will guide tourists to go to the south side first, then head north (the road is connected). Walk a short distance towards the southern Great Wall, and you will see the Hero's Stone, where you can queue up for photos. I didn't take a photo because there were too many people, but you can also see the Hero's Stone on the way from the North 3 to North 4 towers, where I saw tourists taking photos.
-
✅How to descend
There is a slide at the North 4 tower for descending, and a cable car is available at the North 7 tower. When you reach the North 11 tower, you will see clear exit signs, and you can descend the mountain along a few flights of stairs. If you want to descend before climbing up to the North 8 tower, it's best to turn back immediately, as the road beyond is very steep! It will be difficult to return the same way.

✅Climbing route of the Great Wall
👉【Starting Point】
Less than 5 minutes walk from the entrance, there is a free storage place, and after the security check, you can see the 'Badaling Stone'.
👉【South Tower 1】
Less than 1 minute to the left of the entrance to the Great Wall is South Tower 1, where you can see the 'He who has not been to the Great Wall is not a true man' stele even if you don't go up.
🤔For friends who are not good at sports and want to give up after a few steps, you can consider leaving after taking photos at South Tower 1, but it is recommended to climb at least to North Tower 4 before descending (since you're here, don't give up easily).
👉【North Tower 1 to North Tower 4】
After completing the Hero's Stone checkpoint, start climbing from North Tower 1, which takes about 30-45 minutes, with some slopes but overall easy.
North Towers 1-4 all have descent paths, and North Tower 4 is the end of the zip line.
⚠If you intend to take popular photos on the tower, it is recommended to take them early at North Tower 1, as some of the holes in the subsequent towers are too small, and some are open-air, which I know from personal experience.
👉【North Tower 5 to North Tower 8】
North Tower 8 has a cable car🚡, suitable for friends carrying the elderly and children, and tickets for descending can be purchased on-site.
Note: North Tower 8 also has a walking descent path, and you need to climb to North Tower 11 to descend.
👉【North Tower 9 to North Tower 11】
Slightly difficult, with 4 sections of stairs close to 90 degrees and slopes of about 60 degrees, requiring handrails.
👉【North Tower 11-Black Bear Park-877 Bus Terminal】
Descending from North Tower 11 leads directly to Black Bear Park, where there is a commercial street selling various souvenirs and food. Continue down the road to return to the starting point of the climb.

🌟Precautions
✅It is best to wear non-slip shoes, as you will be walking for a long time
✅Do a good job of sun protection and carry a bottle of water to replenish your strength
✅It is advised not to buy keepsakes on the Great Wall, as it will increase the burden of weight.

Badaling (Chinese: 八达岭; pinyin: Bādálǐng) is the site of the most visited section of the Great Wall of China, approximately 80 kilometers (50 mi) northwest of Beijing's city center, in Badaling Town, Yanqing District, Beijing municipality. The portion of the wall running through the site was built in 1504 during the Ming Dynasty, along with a military outpost reflecting the location's strategic importance. The highest point of Badaling is Beibalou (北八樓), approximately 1,015 meters (3,330 ft)
Badaling is probably the most convenient part of the Great Wall of China to visit as it took only 20 minutes by high speed train. Alternatively, you may take local (I believe it was no. 704) which would take around 45 minutes to 1 hour (depending on the traffic). While the view was stunning, do expect crowd, both Chinese and foreigners. It would still be the most recommended one to reach for the Great Wall.
Today, Wang Qin tour guide took us to the Great Wall, Summer Palace, and Yuanmingyuan. During the trip, Wang Guide gave a serious speech and cared about the safety of the whole group, especially the physical attention and care of the old comrades. The work was serious and responsible, the business ability was strong, and the enthusiasm made us feel the greatness of the capital. I am happy to train such a good tour guide. I will definitely be the first choice next time I come to Beijing. Thank you!
Very good, night tour of the Great Wall is a very good choice, summer is hot, the evening is a little cooling can see the scenery of the day, and then see the night view. There are performances at night, the performance is quite shocking, one stroke and three strokes [scenery] very good [interesting] very sufficient [price ratio] OK
Beijing Badaling Great Wall is very far from the city. From the city, you can take the subway and then take the small train. You can use a Beijing cartoon to generalize these traffic tickets. After climbing, I realized that it was really tired than climbing the mountain. Some slopes were particularly steep and some stairs were particularly difficult to walk. It's hard to go to the good man slope.
The weather is good today, the Great Wall is very spectacular, the guide service of Zhixiang travel is very warm, the explanation is also very professional, and we introduced many attractions in Beijing along the way, the through train is clean and tidy 👍🏻
Definitely worth going. One star for service, the cable car south 4th floor, want to go down to the North Great Wall, do not know where to go, no road signs and no volunteers, finally see an uncle who sorted out the self-service vending machine, ask the uncle answer: I have not worked hard to take care of your things, I have not finished my own things. Finally, I asked other tourists.
