Zhongshan Park is located in the quiet old urban area of Shantou City. Like other "Zhongshan Parks" in Guangdong, this park was also built in the early 20th century to commemorate the revolutionary pioneer Sun Yat-sen. Visitors can see it not far from the entrance of the park. On the main gate archway about 30 meters high, there are four big characters "The world is the public" written by Sun Yat-sen.
