Tongji Bridge is located at the southern end of Bayi Road and spans the north and south of the Wujiang River. It was originally a pontoon bridge. In the second year of Yuantong in the Yuan Dynasty (1334 AD), an eleven-hole stone pier and wooden beam bridge was built. There are 50 bridge houses on the top. There are three halls and two pavilions. The statues of the Zhou Sangha and other gods are magnificent. They were repeatedly destroyed and repaired. In the 14th year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1809 AD), it was rebuilt into a 13-hole stone arch bridge with a length of 213 meters, a width of 7 meters and a height of 14 meters. After the liberation, the bridge deck was widened to 10 meters, and a two-hole arch dry bridge was added on the north bank. Tongji Bridge spans the Wujiang River, which divides Jinhua into two areas, north and south. Street lights shaped like flowers and trees are set on the bridge, with a lane in the middle and sidewalks on both sides. Today, in the daytime, cars run in groups on Tongji Bridge, and pedestrians flow one after another; at night, the lights on the bridge and the swaying river are extraordinarily enchanting.
