Sunway Lost World of Tambun Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Malaysia Visa-Free | 7 Days 6 Nights Off-the-Beaten-Path Itinerary Guide
Just got back from Malaysia, took an unusual off-the-beaten-path route, traveling north from Malacca to Penang, exploring and wandering along the way. Besides the cities with Southeast Asian charm, there was also the freedom of durian orchards. This visa-free country is really too tempting. Sharing a less-traveled route suitable for the whole family.
·
D1: Shanghai - Kuala Lumpur - Malacca
D2: Malacca - Broga Orchard Hill (Durian Orchard) - Kuala Lumpur
D3: Batu Caves - Ipoh Sunway Lost World of Tambun - Ipoh
D4: Ipoh - Taiping Lake Gardens - Kuala Kurau - Penang
D5: Penang Day Tour
D6: Penang - Kuala Lumpur
D7: Kuala Lumpur - Sepang HL Dragon Fruit Farm - Kuala Lumpur Airport - Shanghai

Penang:
Compared to Kuala Lumpur, I prefer the world heritage site of Penang, which features a mix of Southeast Asian, Muslim, Chinese, and Indian architecture. The strong cultural atmosphere, interesting graffiti in the alleys, and the dazzling markets are all reasons why I like this old city. Although there are quite a few Michelin-starred restaurants in Penang, I still recommend saving some room in your stomach for the night market snacks!
Malacca:
Also a world heritage site, Malacca is a bit more colorful. After visiting the Baba-Nyonya Heritage Museum, I finally understood the origins of the Peranakans and learned more about the history of Zheng He's voyages to the Western Seas.
Ipoh:
Malaysia's little Guilin, a small town in the mountains, with lots of delicious food. Saw a Malayan tapir at the Sunway Lost World of Tambun in Ipoh! So cute~
Must Eat Durian:
How can you come to Malaysia and not eat durian! The durians in Kuala Lumpur, the dragon fruits in Sepang, and the pomelos in Ipoh are all delicacies not to be missed~
Tips:
1. Malaysia is visa-free, with no time difference from China, and flights to Kuala Lumpur are very convenient.
2. There are super many wild animals, hornbills and monkeys can be seen in the parks. Please do not feed them randomly to protect the ecology.
Lost World of Tambun Theme Park
A nice theme park suitable children of all ages. It’s value for money as you have access to the water theme park and also the rest of the rides and mini zoo. You can easily spend a full day there! They are very strict in food items or even personal water bottle and it’s not allow in the theme park. Try to keep it light and easy as you can easily get food and drinks within the theme park. Ample parking available right outside the park, so for those who drive need not worry. Overall we had a great time there.#perak #sunway #mymymemories

Concubine Ln Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Kopi Panglima
#malaysia #ipoh #cafe to visit in Concubine Lane. The aunty outside will be calling us to enter. It's a nice place to chill after tiring legs if you are walking around the city. Located at the end corner of concubine lane: 24 Concubine Ln;
I found this place bring the vibe of kampong spirit, with its tingkat and sarong decor plus the bricks and stairs. Tried their Kopi tiga negara which is super refreshing, rice noodle curry, mushroom chicken bao, prawn siew mai, and seaweed chicken for the price of RM 53.6;
Curry is rich of flavour while the dimsum is not that good. Recommend you to just skip the dimsum and try the local food and kopi here! 😋
Old Town with Aesthetic Vibes♥️
#wheretogo
Address:
📍 Lorong Panglima, Concubine Lane, 30000, Ipoh, Perak.
This place probably one of the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. I like the design of the building around this area. Feels like living in the 80’s era. Love how this place represents the sentimental value.
It is open daily from 7am to 7pm including Public Holiday.
There were hip cafes around this area. What I can say is, a lot of hip cafe!😅 Please choose which ever you’re interested with. There also stores and a lot of interesting shop.
How to get there:
1. By car
If you’re planning to drive, that’s the best option! Traffic is not that heavy which navigating around is easy.
2. By Grab
Also a good idea and most preferred option. The price is reasonable and affordable. No hassles too. But, make sure to download the apps first, state your destination and the driver will be assigned to you. Easy😊
Tip: For an exciting time, I recommend you to have a visit during peak season (weekends or public holidays), because there would be so much more to see and of course will be crowded with tourists and local people.

Fabulous cafe near Concubine Lane
Good day in Ipoh! I had fun spending my weekend trying out new cafe around Ipoh, one of them was Fluff Cafe. It is located along the shop lot near Concubine Lane. The only problem with this area is parking spaces, especially on weekend, it’s a hustle to come here to enjoy the vibes. This area is walkable as the building and surrounding are so beautiful. Hence I don’t mind to park my car a bit far from the destination and walk there.

Tasik Cermin Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Ipoh 🇲🇾The love of Mother Nature 🍃
It was a short vacation, we drive from Penang to Ipoh. It took us about 3 hours to reach Ipoh. We visited Foh Sun for our breakfast of course! The Dim Sum is just too good 🙌
Foh Sun
📍51, Jalan Leong Sin Nam, Kampung Jawa, 30300 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia
We then visited Tasik Cermin. The view was so so amazing. We drive and walked a little while until we reach the place. The view was very worth to visit 🏞️ I have attached some amazing shots and I will also write down the address.
Tasik Cermin
📍Tasik Cermin, 31350 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia
We then went to Funny Mountain for their dessert! just imagine then you can order and eat dessert in your car under hot sunny day ☀️ Their dessert was delicious too😋 We ordered their famous Tao Fu Fah to end our short trip!
Funny Mountain Soya Beancurd
📍50, Jalan Mustapha Al-Bakri, Taman Jubilee, 30300 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia
Mirror Lake
Tasik Cermin is a beautiful destination to visit when in Ipoh. The view is absolutely stunning and the calmness inside the cave is impressive, as there is no echo due to the surrounding hills.
The lake is beautiful, but don't expect a perfect mirror reflection as the water ripples like any other typical lake. Nonetheless, it is still very picturesque and worth a visit.
Overall, it's a great place to appreciate the natural beauty of Ipoh.

Coffeeshop located in a cave?!
It is more of a kopitiam by the cave instead of in the cave. Get a queue number first and wait for number to be called. There are seats and benches placed under shelter for the wait. Was there at about 10am and waited for about 20 mins for a table of 5.
Had the iced white coffee which was fragrant and slightly sweet. Dishes we ordered were kaya butter toasts, butter sugar toasts, kaya toasts, prawn rolls, fried wantons and fried rice.
We all agreed that other than the fried rice, the rest of the dishes were good. Fried rice is slightly disappointing as it is more of a fried shallot rice without wok hei.
5 stars still given for this place as it is still a nice tourist experience and food is not bad. Service staffs were efficient.#ipoh #ipohcafe #foodie

☕ Ipoh Wall Mural 🎨
One of the main attraction in Ipoh is it's street art done in 2014 by Ernest Zacharevic which prompted many other artists to start this street art wall mural trend. If you are in Ipoh, you could very well see most of these murals on your feet as they are all located in a few streets in the old town pretty close by. There are also map to guide you finds these interesting street art, including Ernest Zacharevic’s original paintings scattered around Ipoh Old Town.
Have fun hunting!! We did it as a family and had so much fun. Next year, I hope to travel to Penang in 2023 to see Penang wall mural!
