Mount Carmel is a mountain range in northern Israel, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, and the city of Haifa is located on the promontory on the west side of Mount Carmel. Mount Carmel is mentioned in the Bible. A miracle happened on Mount Carmel, where the Lord competed with Baal, and Elijah, the prophet of the Lord, won and killed 450 of Baal's prophets. In front of the Elijah Memorial Hall on the top of Carmel, there is a stone statue of Elijah, with the prophet of Baal under his feet, and the shape is extremely brave and mighty. Mount Carmel is considered a holy mountain in many religions, such as Judaism, Christianity, Essenes, and has influenced many other religious movements (such as the Baha'i Faith) and literature to this day, meaning that in fact, it plays the role of World Heritage. During World War I, Mount Carmel played an important strategic role. There are three buildings in Mount Carmel Church. The semicircular building is the main synagogue, and the basement contains the children's Sunday school classrooms, the bomb shelter and a prayer room called Elijah's Cave. The second building, called Mount Carmel Light, includes the main offices, intern quarters, a large kitchen, a large dining room, a chaplaincy, and guest rooms that can accommodate several visitors. The third building has a women's shelter to help women who are Jewish refugees returning from Russia, Ethiopia and other countries. Some of them came to Israel as refugees from Darfur in southern Sudan. Their husbands must remain in Israeli prisons until their identities and intentions are established. Among these women, there are Christians and Muslims. Most of them speak Arabic, and only a few speak a little English.
