新年好去處2026
I slowly cycled along the riverside bike path, the wind whistling past my ears, its cool, damp air brushing against my cheeks. The reeds along the bank swayed in the wind, like a green ocean. Occasionally, a white waterbird would startle from the reeds, its wings skimming the water's surface, creating a trail of tiny splashes. In the distance, kites soared and sank in the blue sky, and children flying kites ran along the riverbank, their laughter carried far on the wind. An elderly couple rode an old-fashioned bicycle; the grandfather pedaled in front, while the grandmother sat on the back, leisurely fanning herself with a palm-leaf fan. The tacit understanding that had been honed over the years was more moving than any scenery. I stopped my bike and sat down on the grass by the riverbank to rest. I took out a piece of chocolate from my bag and slowly melted it in my mouth, the sweetness spreading as I looked at the sun... Sunlight spilled across the water, shimmering like scattered diamonds. A dragonfly perched on the handlebars, its transparent wings shimmering with iridescent light. Its stillness resembled a contemplative philosopher. This leisurely pace, free from the need to rush, gave the illusion of time standing still. As cyclists passed by, their bells jingling, I suddenly felt infected by their vitality. All my heavy worries seemed insignificant. The most beautiful part of travel is this hands-on freedom; it allows you to regain control of your rhythm, to feel the speed of the wind, the warmth of the sun, and that long-lost lightness deep within. When I stepped back onto the pedals, the road seemed lighter, and the laughter carried on the wind echoed in my ears.
