While the rest of the country is baking in a heatwave, I spent a 21°C summer in Dayaoshan Panwangjie, Guangxi. Lush green mountains greet you, and cool breezes carry the sweet scent of plants—it's truly "natural air conditioning" gifted by nature. Watch the sea of clouds after the rain, take a gentle mountain hike, and feel your body and mind completely refreshed. What amazed me most, though, was stumbling upon the weekend Yao ethnic activities. I was fully immersed and had such a blast~ I highly recommend that everyone visiting Dayaoshan experience this. · 📍: Dayaoshan Panwangjie Scenic Area, Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County, Laibin City, Guangxi 🚄: For self-driving, navigate to "Dayaoshan Panwangjie Scenic Area Parking Lot"; take high-speed rail to Liuzhou Station or Laibin, then carpool/charter a car for about 1.5–2 hours to get there directly, or take a city bus. · ⛰️ Itinerary: Cable car upper station ➡️ Upper line tour ➡️ Panwangjie elevator to lower line ➡️ Panwang Square interactive experience ➡️ Lower line tour ➡️ Yaoshan Market ➡️ Dayaoshan elevator up the mountain ➡️ Exchange gifts at Ayao's Shop 🎁 ➡️ Cable car down the mountain ⭐️ Highly recommended! Eat your fill of seasonal Guangxi fruits. . 🍦 Next, head to Panwang Square—brave the "Cooling Tower" in a timed climbing challenge to grab popsicles. The highest score wins, and after the competition, the popsicle tower is open for everyone to grab free popsicles! . 🍵 The herbal tea challenge is even more exciting. The special Yaoshan herbal tea comes in three levels: slightly bitter, medium bitter, and extremely bitter. Win the challenge to earn Panwang Coins. I drank 6 cups in a row without changing my expression—my poker face was on point~ 😎 . 🎎 The highlight is the Yao cultural experience—the "Panwang Anthem" live performance. Follow the Yao people as they express emotions through folk songs, join the Panwang parade, and dance the Panwang dance. There's also the "Yao Mountain Groom-marrying" experience, where you can learn about the unique Yao custom of matrilocal marriage! The Yao prince Pan 92 threw the embroidered ball~ unfortunately, I didn't catch it 😭 🎁 The biggest surprise was the summer blind box NPC interaction—I drew "Village Chief" (a bit of a pity I didn't get the muscular male model, but being the Village Chief's daughter and dancing together wasn't bad~), the interaction was super fun! Finally, I went to Ayao's Shop to exchange the Panwang Coins I won for small gifts. Perfect! 🌅 In the evening, there's a sunset concert by the cliff. Sunset, evening breeze, folk music—it's so romantic I didn't want to leave. . 📝 Tips 👗 Outfit: Comfortable, casual shoes. It's windy at high altitudes, so bring a light jacket. 🕐 Time needed: Reserve 3–6 hours. Activities are concentrated on weekends, so it's recommended to visit then. 🏠 Accommodation: Stay at a homestay down the mountain at night. It's cool even without air conditioning—perfect for a summer wellness retreat!
