The Arc de Triomphe is a monumental building located in Chisnev, the capital of Moldova. The Arc de Triomphe of Kirchnev was built in 1840 to commemorate the victory of the Russian Empire against Turkey in the Russo-Turkish War of 1828-29. Inside the Arc de Triomphe is a large bell, cast from copper melted from cannons confiscated by Russia from Turkey. The Arc de Triomphe is a symbolic landmark of Chisinau. It is located on Stefancel Mare Avenue, two-storey high, four Corinthian columns, in a classical style, with a clock on the facade of the arch; opposite is the square of the Grand National Assembly.
