According to historical records, the ancient city wall of Chaozhou has undergone a dozen construction processes, large and small. From these processes, it is enough to peep into the splendid history and culture of Chaozhou. After the construction of the prefecture city, the city wall is 2.5 feet high, the base is 2.2 feet wide, the front of the city is 1.5 feet, and the surrounding area is 1,763 feet. There are seven gates around the city, including Shangshui, Zhumu, Guangji, Xiashui, Anding, South and North. The moon city was built as a barrier outside the city gate, and 44 enemy towers, 67 nests and 2,932 pheasant stacks were built on the city, which was very majestic. With the changes of history, the south, west and north walls of Fucheng were all demolished due to the needs of urban construction. Now only the ancient city wall facing the Han River in the east, from Jinshan in the north to the south gate, with a total length of 2132 meters, preserves the city. There are four gates, namely Shangshui Gate, Bamboo and Wood Gate, Guangji Gate and Xiashui Gate, and there are gate towers.
