The twin villa at 796 Huaihai Middle Road is a garden villa connected by two air corridors. It was the first house of the well-known comprador Jiang Xusheng in Shanghai. According to the popular neoclassical style at that time, it was four floors high, with slim and gorgeous columns, continuous open corridors and large decorative glass. The East Building was built in 1921 and the West Building was built in 1927.
