Lake Poway

Lake Poway is an inland lake located a little over 20 miles from the coast of San Diego, east of I 15. The lake and it’s associated park is a recreational gem. There is fishing, boating (you can rent boats and paddle boards) and there are hiking trails including the Mt Woodson trail which begins here and leads to the famous Potato Chip rock on top of Mt Woodson. Families can also picnic in the park just next to the lake and there is also a nice children playground. While you are there, make sure to visit the Tony Gwynn memorial which commentates the late great Mr Padre.
