The Albert Memorial

The Albert Monument was built in 1876 by Queen Victoria for her husband Prince Albert. The monument is located opposite the Royal Albert Hall. The monument is like the bell tower pavilion at the spire of the church. Prince Albert sits on the throne in the pavilion with a book in his hand.

The monument is situated on the west side of Hyde Park near Kenlington Park, but it is much quieter than Hyde Park on the other side of the road. The monument on the huge lawn looks very magnificent. It seems that the effect is similar to that of the monument near the North Bridge in Edinburgh, but it's a little smaller. You can see students studying nearby. Maybe it has something to do with the London Business School around you.

The Albert Monument is the end of a long walk through Hyde Park and Kensington Garden. Queen Victoria built a huge Gothic, intricate crown in memory of her husband Albert, all covered with golden leaves.

This tall Albert Memorial Pavilion seems to have once again fully demonstrated the Royal style of Britain. It is said that the new Gothic building, built between 1863 and 1872, has a spire of 53 meters. It uses precious stone, stained glass, bronze and other building and decorative materials. It is a famous Victorian building. In the center of the memorial Pavilion is a bronze statue of the Duke of Albert (husband of Queen Victoria). The relief belt on the base consists of the images of 178 famous writers and artists at that time. The whole sculpture scene, while solemn and magnificent, is full of Western romanticism. The Royal Albert Concert Hall is a circular classical building nearby. We just walked through the door and did not enter the interior.
