Baima River Park

Baima River Park is located on the banks of the Baima River in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, spanning Gulou District and Taijiang District, with a length of 2.4 kilometers. The first phase of the project was completed in the Spring Festival of 1990. Ficus, bamboo, etc. are planted with subtropical plants as the keynote. There are nearly 80,000 trees (clusters) of trees and shrubs, including more than 600 trees with a diameter of 15-20 cm. The whole layout highlights the subtropical scenery. On the east bank, there is a "Sunflower Garden" dominated by palm plants such as palms, clumps of fishtail and beautiful true sunflowers; there are 24 large banyan trees, three sides are set off by high hedges, and the middle is composed of flowers, bamboo, bougainvillea, etc. There is a "Wufu Square" surrounded by trees such as mango, hibiscus, osmanthus, fusang, etc. There is a "Wufu Square" with an area of 457 square meters, which is based on Fuzhou folk patterns representing good luck and well-being. There is a "Liyuan" mainly composed of lychees, supplemented by trees such as carambola and Araucaria; an ancient city battlement is built in a section of about 370 meters near the former site of Wushan Library on Huancheng Road. On the west bank, there is the "Langui Garden" which is dominated by fragrant flowers and trees such as white orchid, Hanshao, Milanese osmanthus, camellia, fire nan, and sheep's hoof; There is also a sculpture square and gate court, as well as lawns, flowers, etc. It is a unique riverside park with plant landscaping. At the end of 1994, the area was 8.18 hectares.
