In ancient China, there was a type of architecture that occupied a very high position in the hearts of Chinese feudal rulers, that is, the mausoleum. Among the many mausoleums, the Thirteen Tombs of the Ming Dynasty must be mentioned. * Thirteen Tombs Business Card The Thirteen Tombs, located at the foot of Tianshou Mountain in the northern part of Changping District, Beijing, are the mausoleums of 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty. It started construction in the seventh year of Ming Yongle (1409) and lasted until the early years of the Qing Dynasty, lasting for more than 230 years. There are around 13 tombs but only a few are open for visitors. The zen garden or the entrance is so photogenic if the climate is good. The tombs have interesting architectural designs, history and relics. The original relics are moved to some place else though. 👣 Best to have a local guide to take you as there are so much history behind this and need someone who know the history to explain the past. The museum at the entrance of the establishment is definitely worth a visit, lots to see. There was once an underground tomb but it seemed not allow to be visited anymore. If you don't drive, there are buses outside each attraction, and some tour buses, which are also good choices! 3⃣Tour route: We are Sacred Way - Dingling - Changling Dingling - Changling - Sacred Way - Zhaoling Reason: Dingling is the only one with an underground palace, you must go! Changling is Zhu Di's, with Nanmu Hall and so on, it's worth going! Although the Sacred Way is not a tomb, the stone statues on both sides are worth a look. We didn't make it to Zhaoling, and heard that it's very new and there's not much to see. Time control: If you want to go around these places, you must go in the morning. We went in the afternoon and didn't make it to Zhaoling. We rushed around Dingling because they all close at 4:30. Each attraction probably takes about an hour and a half, and the Sacred Way can be done in 1h.
