"Tiantishan Grottoes were founded in Beiliang (397-439) during the 16th Kingdom of Eastern Jin Dynasty. It was excavated from Beiliang Wangju Canal Meng Xun from 412 to 439 AD. In 1958, in order to solve the irrigation problem of the land in the Huangyang River basin, it was decided to build the Huangyanghe Reservoir near the Tiantishan Grottoes. In addition to the Big Buddha Grottoes, dozens of statues and more than 300 square meters of murals in the small grottoes tens of meters above the surface are transported to the Gansu Provincial Museum for preservation."

Highlights: The Tianti Mountain Grottoes, also known as Dafo Temple, are located in Dengshan Village, Zhonglu Township, Liangzhou District, Wuwei City. They were created in Northern Liang during the Sixteen Kingdoms Period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty and are about 1600 years old. The summit of the mountain is precipitous and shrouded in clouds and mist. Stone steps have been laid on the mountain, which, due to the steepness of the terrain, look like a hanging ladder, hence the mountain's Chinese name 'Tianti', meaning 'Ladder to heaven'. Due to the soft geological structure of the Tiantishan Grottoes, the caves have all suffered different degrees of damage, with only three levels of grottoes remaining, along with around ten caves. There are large murals on the north and south walls of the cave with vivid and lifelike depiction of such as a dragon flying in the clouds, trees and flowers, and a Bodhi Tree.

"When you come to Wuwei, you must go to Leitai Night Market at night, then, you must go to the Confucian Temple during the day. After walking through the Ming and Qing Night Market from Liangzhou City Gate, people rarely do not make noise. Occasionally, one or two groups appear. Going north, you can see the red wall is where the Confucian Temple is located. The door is not big. It feels very elegant to enter the park, there are many plaques, and the introduction of the history of the invention and development of printing technology. Some monuments... The Confucian Temple is not big but worth a visit."
