It's a genuine Laotian number, but an eSIM costs more than a physical SIM card at the operator's office. I installed the Unitel app and was able to access my account, where I can add new packages at the regular price (though I had to return to Thailand early, and the 10-day card was just enough, so I didn't try it).

I purchased this for our family trip this March. My younger sister went a day earlier and mentioned that Laotel was slow, so I bought Unitel to compare and complement each other. Unitel seemed faster in terms of speed in Vientiane, while Laotel seemed to operate more stably in Luang Prabang. I always buy eSIMs from Trip.com and am always satisfied.
