Reviews/Trip Moments

Reviews: From Edinburgh: Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle & The Kelpies

The outing was great. We only saw Loch Lomond briefly due to construction, which was a bit of a shame. The castle tour was very interesting, and the kelpies were fun to see. Overall, it was a lovely day trip, and we had a great time. However, we were a little surprised by the price of the castle tour: the price displayed outside the shop was £18, but inside we paid more without any explanation. Perhaps this is because we don't speak English very well.

This was one of the best tours I’ve been on. Our guide Keith was very funny and knowledgeable. I chose this tour as a last minute booking and couldn’t have been more lucky to land this small business, Stuart tours. This is a long tour, and they do their best to break it up with multiple stops including just ones for photos. I also rather enjoyed the little music breaks that our guide included. He did his best to get us to stops at times with minimal people. If you are going to spend your money on an all day Loch Ness tour, this is the one to book.

A thoroughly enjoyable day trip, with a great mix of Scottish whisky and beautiful scenery. The funny and/or interesting stories from our driver Ross made it absolutely perfect ☺️

Jason was a really great guide and driver. Interesting commentary on the ride, with a personal touch and open to questions. We listened to a great selection of scottish music. He was also really accommodating for one member of the group who could not walk too far. On the way back we stopped at the three bridges, since we had time and the weather was nice. I especially enjoyed that. The stop at the Kelpies was wonderful and I had the perfect amount of time. At the Loch I did the boat ride, which was fine but the part of the tour that I enjoyed the least. The stop at the Stirling Castle was perfectly timed to do the last guided tour through the castle. Very interesting but I would have spend a little more time there if I had been on my own. We were lucky and saw one cow up close. I would definitely do this tour again.
