Leaving from Edinburgh, we head west towards our first stop at The Kelpies. Located in The Helix park near Falkirk, these 30-meter horse-head sculptures pay tribute to Scotland's industrial and mythical heritage, representing the water spirits known as kelpies from Scottish folklore. They are an impressive example of public art and engineering excellence, drawing visitors with their remarkable size and symbolism.
Next you continue on to Stirling Castle, one of Scotland's most important historic fortresses. You'll have time to explore its grand halls and royal chambers, hear stories of Mary, Queen of Scots and William Wallace, and enjoy panoramic views from its hilltop position. If the Castle is not your thing, you can spend some time historic city which was once the capital of Scotland and the coronation place of James VI and I, and has a population of about 37,000.
In the afternoon we driver northwest to the village of Luss, situated on the western shore of Loch Lomond. Known for its charming cottages and stunning views of the loch, Luss offers a tranquil setting for a leisurely stroll along the shore and through the village. The newly built Luss distillery offers a range of immersive gin adventures alongside a curated selection of dedicated Loch Lomond Whiskies experiences. Whether you're a seasoned gin or whisky explorer, or simply passing through and feeling curious, there's something here for everyone. If you're lucky you'll get a chance to meet the hairy coos in the paddock opposite the distillery.
