Things to do in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai, tucked into the forested mountains of northern Thailand, is a former Lanna kingdom capital. With ancient temples, misty hills, and artisan villages, Chiang Mai offers a peaceful contrast to the bustle of Bangkok. Chiang Mai weather varies by season, with the cool, dry months from November to February being ideal for outdoor adventures and temple visits. Top things to do in Chiang Mai include exploring the Old City, visiting mountaintop Doi Suthep, and wandering Chiang Mai night markets, where food, crafts, and local charm come together every evening. One highlight is the city shines during the Chiang Mai Lantern Festival, when thousands of glowing lanterns float into the night skyβ€”a truly magical sight.

The trip is as described. I enjoyed the whole experience and there was plenty of time for sightseeing and taking photos although you will spend a lot of time in the van. Tiring but wonderful.

Reviews: Chiang Mai: Sticky Waterfall & Angel Waterfall Park Day Tour
V***92026-03-01
It was very good. The sticky waterfall was a lot of fun and very different. The angel waterfall has to be the most beautiful place I've been to. Every corner is a great spot for pictures. Our guide Amy was nice and fun. Time management was good as well. I would definitely recommend it especially if you're not in Chiang Mai for long.

Reviews: Chiang Rai Temple Day Trip with Lalita Cafe Visit from Chiang Mai
Rodz Jay2026-02-26
My recent trip to Chiang Rai was an unforgettable experience! The activities were incredibly fun, and the temples, with their stunning architecture, were truly picturesque. Our guide, Andy, was a treasure trove of knowledge about Thailand's rich history, making the tour even more engaging. However, the journey had its downsides; the long drive on winding, bumpy roads was quite exhausting. Despite this, the beauty of the temples and the insights from Andy made the trip worthwhile. Overall, it was a memorable adventure, blending culture and fun, even with a few bumps along the way!

Reviews: Chiang Mai Sticky Waterfall half-day tour [optional Chiang Mai Blue Temple/Tiger Kingdom]
xanarkr2026-02-04
Overall the trip was a really great experience. Pick up was easy and prompt, but you are relying on others in the group to be ready on time. We did the Angels Waterfall and Sticky Waterfall package and I would definitely recommend. Although Angels Waterfall is a man-made attraction it really is beautiful. The water pools and flora really makes it feel like you are in a magical forest. It’s a great place to get some really spectacular photos, so ideal for bloggers, influencers, photographers. There are also rabbits and goats that you can pay ΰΈΏ20 to feed. The only thing I would complain about is that it doesn’t tell you in the description that there is an ΰΈΏ80 entrance fee. The Sticky Waterfall was so much fun. Quite busy, so if you are joining a tour group be prepared for that as you won’t arrive early enough to beat the crowds. We felt that the amount of time we had at each location was just the right amount and enjoyed the day immensely. Would definitely recommend.

Reviews: Chiang Mai: Amazing! Doi Suthep & Wat Umong Night Tour with Guide

As an international tour group, I was forced to practice my English listening skills for almost four hours. The night view was beautiful, and the half-day tour wasn't tiring.
