The Space Needle was built in 1961 for the World Expo in 1962, and the Space Needle welcomed 2.3 million visitors during the Expo. The space needle tower is 184 meters high and the top floor is 158 meters away. It was once one of the tallest buildings in the western United States when it was built. The space needle tower is 42 meters wide and weighs 9,550 tons. It is designed to withstand earthquakes of magnitude and winds of 10 kilometers per hour. In addition, there are 25 lightning rods installed on the tower. The observation deck and revolving restaurant, which are 520 feet above the ground, provide a 360-degree panoramic view of Seattle, with a panoramic view of the city and surrounding Mount Rainier 〈 Mt. Rainier 〉, Olympic National Park 〈Olympic National Park〉 and Phuket Bay 〈 Puget Sound 〉.
