Mandalay Hill Review

Mandalay's name also comes from the highest mountain in the city, Mount Mandalay, which passed by when Sakyamuni preached Buddhism, pointing to the vast land under the mountain, predicting that after 2400 years, a bustling city will emerge. Mandalay did not live up to expectations, under King Mindong, 30 years of glory dotted with immortal pages in history.

Mandalay Mountain is a famous Buddhist mountain, formerly known as Luocha Nv Mountain. Mandalay City is named for this mountain. Mandalay Mountain is 236 meters high, there are 231 big Buddhas and monasteries on the mountain, and more than 1,000 small monasteries. From the east, south and west, there is a stone step to the top of Mandalay Mountain, along the way there are eight famous temples. Tourist buses can't drive to Mandalay Mountain attractions, we transfer to this double-row car to the parking lot halfway up the mountain. This is a bus in Mandalay city, a car sometimes takes more than 20 people to mixed. From the mountainside, you can take the elevator directly to the top of the mountain. To view the scenery along the way, we chose to climb the stairs to the top of the mountain.

The Emerald Buddha is the only tower in the world built from natural emerald. After construction in 2012, a devout Burmese couple spent two years building jade with their 25-year storage. A total of 1,000 tons of jade was used, worth $1.1 billion. The best emeralds are inserted into the tip of the pagoda, and the night tower tops and parts of the towers emit a green glow that is breathtaking.

作为缅甸的宗教中心，曼德勒拥有无数的寺庙和佛塔，到马哈牟尼佛塔看诚心的信徒为佛像进行洗脸仪式。这组由佛塔和寺庙组成的建筑群位于曼德勒市南边，每时每刻流淌着虔诚的信徒。1784年，贡榜王朝的缅王波道帕耶( Bodawpaya)由妙乌(Mrauk U)夺得这尊庄严的佛像，就建造佛塔来供奉它。马哈牟尼佛塔的青铜佛像高约4米，重达6.5吨，当地人将它视为佛陀的真身，因此在缅甸享有十分崇高的地位。当地人到这里为佛像贴上金箔，长年累月下来，金箔已经厚达7厘米，然而只有男子才能进入佛像范围，为佛像贴上金箔。一众被佛祖拒于门外的女子，跪坐佛前，手持鲜花，念念有词，就算周围挤满了拍照的游客，也丝毫不受干扰。

马哈伽纳扬僧院位于乌本桥头，是缅甸规模最大，最高级的僧院之一，有着100多年的历史，当前是数千名僧侣的家。这里犹如一所僧人大学，学生人数接近2000人，场面壮观。僧院最著名的则是每天上午进行的“千人僧饭”。每天上午10点，各国游客云集至此，目睹千名和尚一同用午餐的画面。缅甸是小乘佛教国家，僧侣严格实行“过午不食”和“托钵乞食”，第一餐在4:00，第二餐在10:00左右开始沿街化缘，12:00以前回到寺庙吃完。缅甸的僧侣是可以吃荤，一般情况下，布施得到的食物是什么就吃什么。布施到的食物荤素都有，鸡鸭鱼肉，水果蔬菜，茶水饮料一样不少。成千的僧侣赤脚托钵，无论多少游客拍照布施，无论有多少干扰.....他们始终保持内心的宁静，心无旁骛，目光不离三尺外。僧人的年龄跨度非常大，年长的僧人巡回维持秩序，也有小僧人挤眉弄眼，忍不住的天真活泼。
