Passed this place one day just after having coffee somewhere else and looking at their impressive coffee menu from around the world siting outside I had to go back the next day to try one. The menu inside explains all the different coffees you can have but I noticed quite a lot of them are quite sweet instead of having a range of black coffee of different. flavours. My husband ordered a Japanese black coffee but the server was quite rude and unhelpful by saying that it would take 20 minutes to have that type of coffee but there was no mention of that on the menu and so he ended up with a plain Americano. I ordered a Moroccan cococinno and my parents cappuccinos but found them to be a bit small and not very warm at all. I really had hopes for here but I'm sad to say we won't be back. There are other good reviews on here and maybe we were just unlucky.

    5/5Outstanding

Thomas Frei has travelled the world as a journalist and brought to the television screen the great dramas of the past 20 years interviewing the great and good of politics and cinema.. Of course I never was aware of this until I entered my first Cafe Frei in the shopping street of Vaci Utca in Budapest.. Tamas now brings the art of coffee making to countries all over the world..This is just one of the many unique coffee houses dispensing almost every coffee flavour from around the world.. The Baristas take pride in their dispensing of that cup of dark brown liquid.. It is at the Great Market end of Vaci Street....I rarely miss a day with my little Chiwawa friend Sophie... My one criticism is that Croissants never seem to be available when I am there..Coffee and croissants are the 'chips' that go with fish..The ketchup with a burger... I hope in the future that 'croissants' become part of Mr Freis 'Coffee Culrure'

    5/5Outstanding

Location is very good, in Vaci utca, entrance is small but there is a large space inside. They offer variety of coffees from all over the world. Price is reasonable, with most coffees being around 550 HUF (1,75 €). This is the perfect place for coffee-lover like me, and only 'problem' you will have on this place is deciding which coffee to order. They sell cakes too!

    4/5Excellent

Large selection of coffee from all over the world. Approx price 530huf, you can sit or take it away. Very nice cafe . Just one negative , it doesn't have tables on the street to relax.
