Brown Mountain is located in the territory of Bohai County, Xishuangbanna, close to the border with China and Myanmar. It is a famous Pu'er tea production area and one of the most preserved areas of ancient tea gardens. Brown Mountain Township includes Banzhang, Lao Mantang, Manxinlong and other villages, of which the oldest old Mantang Village has a history of 1400 years. The Brown people are descendants of Bailong, who have lived in Brown Mountain for generations and are the first people in the world to cultivate, make and drink tea.
